TMH's Heart & Vascular Team recently reached a major milestone — 75 successful Barostim procedures! 🎉

Barostim is a breakthrough therapy that uses electrical pulses to help the body regulate blood pressure and heart, kidney and vascular function. The procedure involves placing a small device below the collar bone which is connected to a thin wire (or lead) that is placed on near the carotid artery, which sends signals to the brain to help rebalance the nervous system. It’s designed for patients with heart failure who still experience symptoms despite medication.

Congratulations to Robert Heidepriem III, MD, Shane McEntire, MD, and Christopher Griggs, DO for offering this innovative heart failure care to our Big Bend community!

Each home game this season, we’ve teamed up with the Florida State Seminoles to spotlight an incredible child with a special connection to TMH as our Kickoff Kid. Join us in cheering for today’s Kickoff Kid, Madison 🏈

Madison was born prematurely on May 17, 2016, at just 28 weeks due to intrauterine growth restriction. Delivered via emergency c-section by Vikki McKinnie, MD, with assistance from Alexander J. Brickler III, MD, of North Florida Women's Care, Madison weighed only 1 lb., 9 oz and measured 12 inches long. She spent 85 days in the region’s only Level III NICU before being discharged on her original due date.

Now, an active nine-year-old, Madison enjoys volleyball, pickleball, singing and dancing. Go Madison & Go Noles! 💛 ❤️

Truly Nolen Pest & Termite Control Tallahassee visited this month for their annual pumpkin decorating activity. Every year, Truly Nolen donates foam pumpkins and decorating kits to our patients in the TMH Children's Center, helping them get into the Halloween spirit.
