Parkview Health has been named to the Forbes 2025 list of America’s Best Employers by State, ranking No. 32 out of 75 companies included on Indiana’s list. It’s the fourth consecutive year Parkview has made the Forbes list.

“Parkview’s culture ties our 17,500+ co-workers together and empowers them to be the best they can be in their careers,” said Dena Jacquay, chief administrative officer, Parkview Health. “Our commitment to our co-workers starts with listening to their ideas and feedback and acting on it to create an environment that best supports them.”

Forbes and Statista selected America’s Best-In-State Employers 2025 through an independent survey from a vast sample of over 160,000 U.S. employees working for companies employing at least 500 people within the U.S. More than 2 million employer evaluations were considered. The final score is based on two types of employee evaluations: personal evaluations given by employees themselves and public evaluations given by friends and family members of employees or members of the public who work in the same industry.

Parkview was one of three Fort Wayne-headquartered organizations recognized along with Steel Dynamics (34th) and Fort Wayne Community Schools (75th) and one of 15 healthcare and social services companies selected by Forbes.

On top of competitive pay and strong benefits, Parkview offers an expansive and innovative array of co-worker perks. Parkview provides a quarterly “lifestyle benefit” stipend; flexible pay options allowing co-workers to access earnings on their schedule; a nationally recognized MyWell-Being team dedicated to co-workers’ physical and mental health; and the Parkview Pups program that brings certified therapy dogs into the workplace, among numerous other perks.

Parkview continues to outperform benchmarks for employee turnover at a higher than 90% retention rate compared to a national healthcare average of approximately 85%. First-year retention rates at Parkview also remain about 10 percentage points better than national averages.

“Caring for our physicians, nurses and support teams is critical to ensuring exceptional care for patients,” said Dr. Ray Dusman, president, physician and clinical enterprise, Parkview Health. “Parkview’s intense focus on patient and provider safety and the commitment to solicit and act on feedback from our frontline co-workers creates a supportive environment where they can focus on what matters most – ensuring our patients are healthy.”

Help us congratulate Brandy Boersema, RN, Endoscopy, Parkview Regional Medical Center, who was recently awarded The DAISY Award® for extraordinary nursing from The DAISY Foundation.

Her nominator shared, “My mom is not a native English speaker and often needs instructions repeated. Her nurse, Brandy, was incredibly gentle and kind in her interactions with my mom. She displayed patience and professionalism, characteristics that feel like a lost art in medicine. Thank you, Brandy. I hope life gives you the same compassion and care in return, and of course, endless daisies!”

Mitch Maisonneuve, healthcare simulation specialist at the Parkview Mirro Center for Research and Innovation, was recently awarded the Educator of the Year Award, recognizing career achievements in emergency medical services. The award presented by the Indiana Emergency Medical Services Association (IEMSA) recognizes professionals with at least 25 years of service and honors their commitment as mentors and leaders in the field.

"Mitch is an essential part of the simulation team, ensuring Parkview's clinical teams are well-equipped to deliver safe, high-quality care in any setting," said Dr. Michael Mirro, chief academic research officer, Parkview Health. "His extensive background in pre-hospital care as a firefighter and first responder adds depth and realism to our training scenarios. That real-world perspective strengthens our simulation efforts and supports our ongoing commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence."

Maisonneuve started his career in EMS in 1996 as a paramedic before joining the Fort Wayne Fire Department in 1999, where he served for 21 years. He joined Parkview in 2013, first in the emergency department and then as a member of the Samaritan mobile intensive care unit. In 2017, he joined the sim lab team as a healthcare simulation specialist – primarily assisting with EMS simulations – and he continues in that role today. In 2014, he received the Martha Goodrich Award, an annual award recognizing one outstanding caregiver at Parkview.
