We twisted into National Oreo Cookie Day on Friday, March 6th! 🖤🤍

Our staff got to celebrate with a sweet little surprise — a mystery Oreo treat bag filled with a variety of Oreo flavors to taste and enjoy! Each bag had a mix of different Oreos, and the flavor lineup was revealed on the back so everyone could see which delicious varieties they were trying.

From classic favorites to fun new flavors, it was a tasty little break that added a sprinkle of fun to the workday. Because sometimes the best way to say thank you to an amazing team is with a little chocolate, cream, and a whole lot of Oreo happiness! 🍪

Our team enjoyed some delicious oatmeal nut waffles (not really, we just wanted waffles) while we took a moment to recognize the incredible leadership that keeps our facility running smoothly every day. Long-Term Care Administrators wear many hats—problem solver, leader, advocate, and sometimes even waffle taste-tester! 😉

Last week, the staff at Hickory Creek Peru stepped back in time for National Retro Day and brought every decade to life! 🕺✨ Bell bottoms, leather jackets, pearls, and all — the nostalgia was strong and the memories were even stronger. We may live in 2026, but today we proved every decade still has its groove!

💃 1950s – Fun Fact: The 50s introduced rock ‘n’ roll to the mainstream, and drive-in diners became the place to be!

🌼 1960s – Fun Fact: The 60s were all about peace, love, and flower power — and the iconic Woodstock festival happened in 1969!

🪩 1970s – Fun Fact: Disco ruled the dance floor, and platform shoes were the ultimate fashion statement.

🎸 1980s – Fun Fact: The 80s gave us big hair, bold colors, and the launch of MTV in 1981!

📼 1990s – Fun Fact: The 90s were the era of cassette tapes, boy bands, and the rise of the internet in everyday life.

Each month, our Director of Community Marketing gets to treat the clients and staff at Bona Vista to a birthday party, and our Culinary Manager, Mary Ann, always knocks it out of the park with the dessert. This month's sweet treat was cherry dump cake, and it was a hit! Hickory Creek always appreciates the opportunity to give back to our community and spread cheer and smiles inside and outside our building walls.
