On September 26, 2025, we joyfully observed National Pancake Day! The celebration featured a delightful array of mini pancakes, skillfully prepared by Mary Amezquita. Mary, who usually manages our Business Office, generously shared her mini pancake bar with us all. She frequently treats us to her culinary creations within the building. This special occasion presented us with a selection of fall-inspired flavors. Notably, Sterling Rasmussen, our Maintenance Director, expressed his enjoyment of the baked caramel apple pancake.

The Hickory Creek Winners are currently celebrating a significant milestone by recognizing the achievements of their dedicated team members!

Kaylee Quertermous, a Certified Nursing Assistant, is celebrating her three-year work anniversary. She is well-known for her unwavering dedication and commitment to her role, frequently working the 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. shift.

Shelby Troyer, a midnight CNA, was honored as the August Employee of the Month.

Kaydence Bowen, from the Culinary Department, was recognized as the September Employee of the Month.

We’re also excited to welcome Nina Vo to our Culinary Team! She was named Rookie of the Month, and we’re so glad to have her on board.

Each month, Hickory Creek at Peru and Senior Care Services collaborate with the YMCA of Miami County to host a complimentary coffee and conversation session, featuring light breakfast refreshments, followed by a lunch and learn program for Silver Sneakers members. This month, we were pleased to feature Anew Hospice, who presented valuable insights on hospice myths and facts. We invite you to join us next month for refreshments, lunch, connection, and educational opportunities. We hope to see you there in October!
