What I’m up to lately🧘‍♀️🫁🪷…

I’ve been teaching yoga for nearly 20 years (since 2005 as a 20 year old college student)

I’ve taught everything from Pilates fusion to vinyasa flow to beginners hatha….prenatal yoga, kids yoga, mom and me, and even goat yoga for fun. I love variety but I also love the freedom and flexibility to teach what is most important to me in the moment.

What I am most excited about right now is the restorative healing process that is found in nervous system regulation and balancing with yoga elements.

This includes deep breathing and body awareness, gentle yoga, restorative postures, and guided somatic meditation similar to yoga nidra. I feel like this is the most aligned offering I can bring to the community at this point in time.

The fact that chronic stress is root cause for so many issues and illnesses, fuels my desire to help.

What I focus on, is helping the body reach a deep parasympathetic state while at rest. A full body healing state, when PSNS communication can happen as it’s intended.

The main comment I receive after these sessions is “I have never felt so calm before in my life”

There are many things you can do to calm the nervous system including being in nature, meditation, aromatherapy, sound therapy, humming, breathing exercises, yoga, humming, singing, visualization and even sunshine and gardening.

What I do is create the most supportive and nurturing environment by offering a variety of these things in one session.

I love that this client not only had a great coaching session that was VERY HELPFUL for her, but that it also inspired her to explore the idea of a friendship that could support her in this way. 💡💃🏻💡

This month I have 2 stress relief options for your yoga needs. Restorative yoga regulates the nervous system, is deeply relaxing and helps balance the active mind. Mindfulness teaches us where to place our energy, on the present. We acces that with breath and with meditation (which is really just your focused attention and awareness) 💜 All of this will be shared and practiced in these coming offerings⬇️

Serenity Sessions: A Stress Relief Workshop

You will gain helpful knowledge about the nervous system and how to self-regulate. We will practice many modalities that help to stimulate the parasympathetic response, which is the rest, repair and recover mode of the autonomic nervous system.

Learn and practice simple yet effective techniques and how to notice signs of stress. I will have a stress relief guidebook, available to anyone who comes to the workshop or the 6 week series.💜

Stepping into the 2024 year, my focus of study and teaching is primarily in stress management and stress relief. I have been diving into deeper training with my trusted mentor Swan Michelle to learn more about somatic meditation (inspired by the work of Dr. Joe Dispenza), sound healing, brain wave states for healing and the power of the parasympathetic nervous system, and so much more.

Serenity Sessions are my newest offering to bring this information and practice to life, and hopefully impact others in the way it has impacted me!

A 6 week class series, Feb 8-March 14th. Thursday nights, 5:45-7:00pm. Cost: $120 for entire six week series.

Each class will be 75 minutes of a blend of the following:

Mindfullness Meditation
Breathing and Observation Awareness
Gentle Restorative Yoga
Guided Somatic Meditation
Sound Healing Elements

❤️Full Permission to share. And a few things to add. Someone must be ready and willing to change. Period. The change that occurred in this session is was a mix of readiness, trust, and understanding.
Not all coaching sessions end up being this impactful but there are always moments of clarity or calm that I do get to witness.

💡Sometimes it’s a small light bulb moment that can make the difference. Sometimes it’s compound effect that is beyond a helpful conversation, but something major clicks and this sets the course for a new path.

Embark on a transformative 6-week journey with Serenity Sessions, designed to cultivate stress relief for your mind, body, and spirit.

Beginning each session, we will practice mindfulness techniques that teach you to anchor your awareness in the present moment, and how to become more conscious of your thoughts.

We will explore breathing exercises and gentle restorative yoga, that empower you with techniques to regulate stress responses and promote deep relaxation. Learn more about the autonomic nervous system, and how to reach parasympathetic state of rest, repair, and recover.

Each 75 minute session completes with guided somatic meditation, a practice dedicated to aligning the mind, body and spirit. These meditations will help you navigate your inner landscape, fostering a deep sense of peace and connection within your body.

Serenity Sessions are profoundly healing, where the synergy of mindfulness, breathwork, restorative yoga, and guided somatic meditation intertwine to create the groundwork for your holistic well-being. Stress is the main reason people seek out a yoga class. Stress is associated with most chronic illnesses and of course, mental health issues. So it’s no surprise that people are looking for ways to relieve stress, and seeking out yoga and meditation as a natural way to cope better with stress.

I am here to help you learn WHY it helps and to show you HOW it helps. My approach is to teach you everything I can that will empower your healing process, and all of these aspects that are available to you through your body and mind.

Here’s how to work with me:
📍Private sessions in person or remotely if needed
📍Small group yoga workshops for stress relief

Private sessions are one on one consultation, discussion and guidance of yoga and meditation skills for daily life. These are customized and tailored to your specific needs.

Workshops are a minimum 2 hours of information, discussion, and practice of these skills with a variety of topics including the sympathetic/parasympathetic nervous system, the mind/body connection, energetic balance in the body, and much more.

Welcome! Balanced Body is all about feeling good and balanced in mind, body and spirit! Holistic health includes physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual care. When we consider how these areas have a synergistic effect on our wellbeing, we can being to really enjoy life and tap into the healing potential offered to us! I have journeyed down several roads of health/wellness education and healing modalities including experience as a personal trainer, yoga teacher, fitness instructor, health coach, mental health professional, Reiki/energy worker, and intuitive empath. Simply stated, I am passionate about sharing Balanced Body with you!
