It’s here…The amazing program all 1st and 2nd graders parents have been waiting for!

The fist ever Wise Girl Minis session is announced today.

A special group designed to help young girls learn tools to manage BIG feelings, friendships skills, and making new friends while having fun!

This group will meet each Wednesday from 3-4pm at McKinley School in Petaluma though kids from all different schools and towns are welcome to join.

This is a 10 week series led by facilitator Mackenzie Rae who has a gift with kids in helping them feel loved and seen all while teaching essential life skills.

Hey Wise Parents!

Our Summer schedule is out and if you’ve been considering Wise Girl Workshops for a while, now is a great opportunity to give it a test drive. Many of our long-time members started at our summer camps and found that what we have to offer is what they want to bring into their school year.

But we also have many members who just attend for the summer. They make it a priority to get on their calendar for June and July.

And then, we’ve always got new girls who just show up for the week. They want connection, fun, and don’t want to deal with the big crowds that some summer camps have to offer.

So if you have a daughter who would like to be a part of a small group for the week, then this could be the best camp for her summer.

We engage in art projects, games, and have meaningful discussions focused on the theme of the week.

There’s no doubt, she’ll walk away with more self-esteem and confidence under her belt. Because when you show up to a summer camp at Wise Girl Workshops, it’s more than just activities. It’s about helping her feel liked and loved for exactly who she is. And our small camps give her the opportunity to be really known and believe that she can belong anywhere.

I’m beyond grateful for Tiana McDowell, SLP of The Speech Corner who came to talk to the 12th grade cohort of Girls In-Service about her career.

Our group had no idea what a speech language pathologist does. Tiana kindly share about her daily tasks, paths in the field, and how she works with particular challenges, like stuttering and social skills.

In addition, Tiana let our members know that speech language pathology is actually a field where there is a high demand for this work, especially in northern California. So it’s definitely a career to consider!

Tiana has recently opened up a private practice here in Petaluma, where she is not only working on traditional speech and language services, she’s also working on executive functioning skills.

It’s always beyond touching to see recommendations and reviews on posts.

Yes, families come from all over Sonoma and Marin Counties to join.

For those who don’t have the ability to head home during the workshop time or need to run errands, our workshops are conveniently located by places making your life easier: Target, Sprouts, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Home Goods to name a few.

Or got another kid tagging along with you while you wait? Head to our our awesome local library or to the Frozen Yogurt shop?

Lastly, take a short drive to Shollenberger Park to get in a quick 2 mile loop between drop off and pick up. There’s no fee for parking and dial up your own self-care while your daughter’s tending to her’s!

✨ We’re getting started next week with our amazing School Year Wellness Workshop series from Wise Girl Workshops!

✨We’re excited to be launching a NEW 7th–8th grade cohort on Thursdays, which is perfect for girls who want to join knowing everyone is starting together.

We also have:

A 5th–6th grade group meeting Wednesdays AND
Just a few remaining spots in our Tuesday 5th–6th grade group

✨ Here’s our full schedule:
• Grades 3/4 – Wednesdays | Jan 14–May 13
• Grades 5/6 – Tuesdays | Jan 13–May 12
• Grades 5/6 – Wednesdays | Jan 14–May 13
• Grades 7/8 – Thursdays | Jan 15–May 14

Our workshops offer girls a supportive space to build confidence, navigate friendships, manage emotions, and develop essential life skills—all while having fun and making meaningful connections.

We meet at McKinley School in Petaluma but our members attend from a variety of schools and towns to join our program.
