Today we are THRILLED to announce a brand new outdoor Zumba series, in partnership with Petaluma River Park! 💃

This new class series begins Fri Aug 15, from 6:00 - 7:15PM, and will be accessible in English, Spanish and French Creole languages. 😀

This is an all-levels Zumba dance class, with fun music, playful dancing, and community connection outside as the sun sets in Petaluma River Park! Class will be led by Carine Gabriel, a certified Zumba instructor and Blue Zones Project Petaluma Ambassador.

⭐Community Member Spotlight! ⭐

Today we are highlighting Annette Sprague for our ongoing Community Spotlight series!

Annette has been a regular in our Monday night Community Yoga Moai for nearly a year now. From that space, she has not only build new friendships with other class regulars, but gone as far as leading her own Walking Moai in partnership with others in the class!

You can often find Annette volunteering alongside the Blue Zones Project Petaluma team at events, tabling and chatting with other community members to spread the word about all things health and well-being.

She is fantastic, brings such a positivity and joy to Petaluma, and we are lucky to know her! Thank you Annette!

When food resources for vulnerable community members are on the chopping block, it does take a village to stand up and come together. Today we are proud to celebrate CalFRESH in California!

From the collective efforts of these organizations, $36M was budgeted for CalFRESH for the rest of 2025, to keep the CalFRESH Fruit and Vegetables Supplemental Benefits Program funded. This is 3X more than ever designated before! 😀

Happy Monday, Petaluma! Last Friday, our team embraced the beauty of our community with a group hike and a visit to our new collaboration spot in Petaluma River Park , reflecting on a wonderful week. Exciting activities are on the horizon, including Zumba, yoga, hula, and more! These will foster connections among everyone in Petaluma. Thank you Petaluma Valley Rotary for the new ADA accessible portable restrooms! We hope you all enjoyed a rejuvenating weekend! 😀

Check out this photo of some of our regular class members in our weekly Monday Community Yoga class! This photo was taken in a recent class where the instructor, Dana Christian Lee, asked them to share "partner pose" -- the focus was "to demonstrate having people feel support when things are difficult" 😀

Our all-levels Community Yoga Class takes place at the Blue Zones Project Petaluma office downtown, every Monday from 5:30 - 6:30pm. To join us at no cost, simply visit our website event calendar and register.

⭐Community Member Spotlight! ⭐

Today we are highlighting Jason Hubbard, from UCC Petaluma. Anyone who knows Jason knows he is a passionate, thoughtful, and generous community member and leader.

At UCC Petaluma, Jason has created a pluralist faith gathering space, and utilizes their sanctuary and building for a wide range of offerings, including faith gatherings of a variety of congregations/beliefs, a food distribution center for Una Vida, sobriety/AA gatherings, a preschool, and more.

Additionally, he and UCC have hosted a variety of Blue Zones Project Petaluma events and gatherings, ranging from things like a Breathwork class in their sanctuary, to a Mindfulness For Beginners series, to a weekly Men's Group.

Beyond all of that, Jason regularly personally volunteers at a range of community events, joins gatherings to stimulate more connection within the non-profit space, and participates in our events himself.

We appreciate you Jason!
