Some of you may know that I have a Bachelor of Arts in Art History. I helped curate slides, assisted the Director of the Sonoma State University Art Gallery, and basically spent most of my time in libraries.

Heaven 🤩

Arthur Golden is an Art Historian and author of this beautiful book. It is a fictionalised account of the life of a Geisha. (The most beautiful film was made in 2005 and can be seen on Netflix).

Many of the most influential, well educated, and skilled female artists were the Italian Courtesans or, in Japan, the Geisha.

They had power. Many women in the 19th century, and centuries prior, did not.

The book, in my opinion, is a must read. The film? Absolutely breathtaking.

I just saw it for the 5th time last night.
