Hello all.. Carol here, I just wanted to let you know that I am no longer Greeting you in the office. I moved on personally. My Honey and I moved to his birthplace in Arcanum, Ohio.

✅Take a few laps around the yard to warm up. Try a few knee to chest, forward and backward bends, and squats.
✅Keep a water bottle in the yard with you as a reminder to stay hydrated.

✅Are you finding that you just can't bend over to work on your garden anymore or just given up entirely?
✅How about trying a raised garden bed to bring your plants to you!
✅Our goal is PT is promoting physical wellness for return to the activities you love, but sometimes learning adaptations to continue activities like gardening are even more enjoyable and less painful.

𝐃𝐲𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐔𝐩:
✅Dynamic warm ups can be used to warm up muscle tissue prior to running, weight training, exercise, golf, gardening, & other recreational activities.
✅We recommend a moving warm up and save the long static hold stretches for the cool down with the muscles are warm, provide a better stretch, & reduce risk of injury.

Here's a few suggestions:
1. Walking or jogging high knees
2. Walking or jogging butt kicks
3. Walking lunge with rotation
4. Heel/Toe raises
5. Forward & Backward back bends
6. Side shuffles both directions
7. Karaoke both directions
8. Small to large arm circles
9. Sun salutations
10. 10 Squats

✅To reduce excessive bending in the spine, try keeping a neutral spine and bend forwards at the hips.
✅Cycle through 2-3 tasks about every 15 minutes to avoid stiffness that often comes with maintaining one body position for a long period of time.
✅Add breaks to your day to allow you to garden longer.

✅It's helpful to keep your back straight, bend at the hips, & feet facing the shovel a little more than a hips width apart.
❌Try to reduce the amount of twisting/rotation with your back and bending over with your back.
➡️Take rest breaks and a warm tea or favorite beverage to warm up always feels nice!
