Yesterday, January 12th, was National Pharmacist Day—a day dedicated to recognizing the important contributions our pharmacists at Hiram W. Davis Medical Center make to our system and the individuals we serve.

Our pharmacists support both the Petersburg Campus and CSH with unwavering dedication, as well as have representation at the system level serving on the advisory council. They are more than medication dispensers; they are trusted healthcare professionals who provide guidance on drug interactions, patient safety, and wellness management. They serve as accessible resources, often being the first point of contact for providers and nursing seeking medical advice.

Their expertise ensures that medications are used safely and effectively, preventing adverse reactions and optimizing therapeutic outcomes. Across both facilities, our pharmacists bridge gaps in access, securing vaccinations, conducting reviews, and providing information that improve how we serve our patients.

To all the pharmacists at Hiram W. Davis Medical Center supporting the Petersburg Campus, HDMC, and CSH: thank you! Your dedication, knowledge, and compassionate care make a profound difference in the lives of countless individuals every single day.

Today, let's take a moment to express our appreciation for these essential professionals who work across our facility and campus to keep our residents and patient healthy and safe.

January is National Blood Donor Month 🩸
Winter can be a challenging time for the blood supply due to weather, seasonal illness, and post-holiday slowdowns. If you’re eligible, please consider scheduling a blood donation this month—your single appointment can help multiple patients in need.

Thank you to everyone in our community who donates and supports lifesaving care. ❤️
