Once a residential home to a large family it has been converted to an assisted living home while maintaining the feeling of a home. We are small, only 15 residents, and can provide one on one individual care. We can cater to each individual and meets their needs much better than a larger facility could manage. Our residents become family and we treat them like family. When care increases we do all we can to maintain them at our home even through the end of life circumstances. We encourage and welcome family visits and gatherings just as if the home was theirs. We even have a guest room for our out of town family and guests. Why choose Lakewood? We understand it’s difficult to leave home but our goal is to make Lakewood the next best place to home. Lakewood promises excellent care and individual attention while keeping our rates the most affordable rates in our area! We understand that caregiver sometimes need a break from the demands of caring for a loved one at home so we also provide respite care with daily rates. Or perhaps your family member just needs a few weeks of extra care following a surgery or illness as well. We work hard to meet the needs of our community. Love is always in the air at Lakewood Home. We continue to work on ornaments for our Valentine’s Day tree. Today it was butterflies of love. Last week it was heart garland. The residents took a vote and persuaded us to leave up our Christmas tree and decorate it for Valentine’s Day. Now it is a Valentine Day tree.  Come by anytime and visit us and see our tree of love❤️❤️❤️❤️. We would love it if you did❤️❤️❤️❤️.

What an extraordinary milestone to commemorate a 95th birthday, a testament to a life well-lived and a heart of gold. Not many make it this far! Tonight, surrounded by loved ones, friends, warmth, and laughter, this remarkable lady's witty spirit continues to bring smiles to us all and uplift those around her. We love our friend, Marcella Willis. We celebrate you together as a family, Lakewood Home, where your family is our family. Our residents completed special letters to their loved ones, sharing special Christmas memories, love, and their advice to them. All of us at Lakewood share our love with you and wish you a very merry Christmas. At Christmas, we remember that God came to us in the form of a baby, Jesus Christ, bringing light, peace, hope, and great joy to all. May this day be filled with that light in your home, that peace in your heart, no matter what your circumstances are, and the hope that comes from only Him, and joy because we have the love of Christ and assurance of always being with Him and with one another if we believe.

What a beautiful moment my staff shared as Lucas Wellmeyer delivered a heartfelt prayer to our residents tonight, shining the message of our Savior's birth and filling their hearts with renewed hope and joy. His family's steadfast commitment to their ministry is a shining example of devotion. Their kindness in gifting our residents was so generous. The most precious gift of all is their time and love they devote to these precious souls every single week asking nothing in return. Jesus shines true in this family of believers and Lakewood is truly blessed to call them friends.

We had a fun-filled evening at Lakewood, where staff participated in the "reindeer games" as we coined it. The residents served as our cheerleaders while staff competed against one another. It required teamwork, which is a value we take pride in, along with everyone encouraging one another, whether in games or in struggles. We also take pride in lifting one another up and carrying one another’s burdens and celebrating one another’s achievements and joys!

Lakewood Home residents had the pleasure of welcoming art teacher Jacy Boyd, who was assisted by her mother and two children. Jacy led the art lesson, while her family provided support to our residents in creating these amazing pieces. The finished artworks were outstanding, and the residents were extremely proud of their accomplishments. Thank you, Jacy and your team. The best gift to the elderly is time spent with them. Christmas party at Lakewood Home

At Lakewood Home, the home shone bright,
With Christmas cheer and soft tree lights.
Residents gathered, families too,
A season of joy, both old and new.
Games were played and trivia won,
Laughter echoed, hearts undone.
Stories shared and memories made,
In love and warmth, the day was played.
The tables filled with food so fine,
Shared with smiles, a joyful sign.
Each bite, each laugh, a gift so true,
A moment of rest from all we do.
Smiling faces, joy in the air,
Kindness and love were everywhere.
A home where hearts are gently known,

‘Twas the night before Lakewood‘s Christmas party and all through the house,
not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
in the hopes that all of the residents families will be there. 

It was pajama night along with staff reading a Christmas poem, serving hot chocolate, popcorn, Chex mix and watching a Christmas movie. Tomorrow we will host our resident Christmas party, so be sure to join us here for more photis!

The ladies are wrapping up their ceramics, a testament to the joy that creativity plus fellowship can bring to ones day. They truly cherish their crafts and the opportunity to visit with one another while they work. They would be thrilled to share their time with you too if you’d like to stop by anytime. I hope everyone takes a moment to give the gift of time to those in nursing homes and assisted livings everywhere. Visiting the elderly is truly the greatest gift we can offer them.
