Once a residential home to a large family it has been converted to an assisted living home while maintaining the feeling of a home. We are small, only 15 residents, and can provide one on one individual care. We can cater to each individual and meets their needs much better than a larger facility could manage. Our residents become family and we treat them like family. When care increases we do all we can to maintain them at our home even through the end of life circumstances. We encourage and welcome family visits and gatherings just as if the home was theirs. We even have a guest room for our out of town family and guests. Why choose Lakewood? We understand it’s difficult to leave home but our goal is to make Lakewood the next best place to home. Lakewood promises excellent care and individual attention while keeping our rates the most affordable rates in our area! We understand that caregiver sometimes need a break from the demands of caring for a loved one at home so we also provide respite care with daily rates. Or perhaps your family member just needs a few weeks of extra care following a surgery or illness as well. We work hard to meet the needs of our community. Lakewood Home hosted its Easter celebration today, coinciding with Good Friday, and it was indeed a wonderful day. The festivities included trivia games, entertaining activities, and delightful treats. Most importantly we shared a room full of laughter, good times and gratitude for our blessings. And everyone left with a “little more Jesus” (we hid miniature Jesus figures to find).

Employment opportunity!

Lakewood Home is seeking a part-time individual to fill a dayshift/evening shift position. This opportunity arises due to the request for reduction of hours with current staff members. Our home prides itself on having a great team and working together to help each other. If you have a passion for working with seniors in a residential setting, you may find this role appealing. While culinary skills are desirable, they are not essential, and experience is valued but not mandatory as training will be provided for the right candidate. Perhaps you are retired from healthcare but looking for a job a 2-3 days a week? We would welcome a conversation with you.

Spring Fling at Lakewood Home. We had crafts, trivia, a game of human whack-a-mole, great food, but most importantly, great fellowship with one another. At Lakewood we are one big family.

What an amazing night we had at The Promise last night at Antioch Church. None of the residents nor families were expecting to be so blessed by the performance. Thank you Promise crew for your hard work and dedication to bringing to life the story of Jesus Christ from His birth to the resurrection.

Who wouldn't be shell-shocked at how well these turned out? Our ladies at Lakewood have painted turtle masterpieces, and a rooster lol, to add to our outdoor charm as we shell-ebrate the arrival of warmer spring weather. Turtles are always happy campers and so are we.
Please come by anytime to visit or bring along an activity to share! Life’s better when you come out of your shell.

We had such a good time crafting today. We repurposed old jewelry and made beautiful and unique one of a kind frames along with making pipe cleaner bouquets of flowers. We topped the day off by enjoying a walk around the home or for some just enjoying the sunshine. We even had a special little puppy visitor that had everyone smiling. May the sweet smiles of these beautiful people bring sunshine to you today.
We welcome visitors anytime. We hope each of you reading this takes time to visit your loved ones, especially the elderly, wherever they might be. It means so much to them.

Today was filled with boundless joy, unforgettable laughter, cherished and loving friends and family - essentially everything that symbolizes love on this special occasion of Valentine’s Day. Lakewood feels so blessed to know each one. We also had the privilege of hosting birthday celebrations as well for some truly remarkable ladies and a gentleman who had birthdays this month. One lady radiantly rang in 97 years young, Virginia. All had fun with the “party crashers” Bertha and Gertie making their appearance and bringing some fun along with them just for the birthday ladies.
