A look at our new gallery wall in our office hallway. All art pieces are by our friend and local artist, Milly Youngblood Horner (1953-2021).

Milly was an absolute joy to us during her time as a volunteer. She was an incredibly gifted artist that had work featured in a number of galleries, homes, and personal collections. Her mixed mediums and stunning color choices are now on display for everyone to enjoy. We miss her everyday and are so incredibly grateful for this donation from our community.

Thank you so much to for helping us put together this wall to honor our friend.

City of Petersburg Residents, we’re excited to kick off 2026 with another City of Petersburg Gives Food Distribution in partnership with the Chesterfield Food Bank! 🧡🥫

Join us Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 5–7 PM at the River Street Market as we come together to support local families by providing you with groceries. Every vehicle may receive groceries for up to a household of four family members (max two households per vehicle).

✨ We’re also calling on our village!
Local businesses, churches, organizations, nonprofits, civic groups, fraternities, sororities, and residents if you have a heart to serve, we’d love to have you volunteer with us. Your support helps us reach more families and strengthen our community.

Final Details: Honoring Life, Art, and Legacy

A look at the eleven hats up for auction - January 10 to 17.

Hats #1-9 are by local hat makers, J Ignatius Creegan and Rod Givens. Ignatius Hats began operating in Petersburg in 2003 and quickly became a staple in the community.

Their hats have been featured in a variety of film and television shows - Lewis and Clark (2015), John Adams (2008), Glee (2010), Mercy Street, etc. Their art has also been seen on the heads of celebrities like Ethan Hawke, Steven Tyler, and Bruce Willis. In addition to London Fashion Week Runway, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and Vogue Magazine.

Hat #10 is a vintage 1980s Yves Saint Laurent boater glossy straw hat, adorned by a ribbon. Made from braided and coiled ramie-based straw.

Hat #11 is Optimo Hats. Optimo is a high-end Chicago-based luxery hat maker. The company was founded in 1995 and has been featured in over 50 films.
