Happy Wednesday, Fit Fam! What started as a whim turned into a life-changing decision, Fern Creek member, Ericka Dixon, walked into Fit Body Boot Camp one day not really knowing what to expect—just looking for a spark, a challenge, or maybe just something different. What she found was so much more. Here is her story:
"January 20th, 2025, I woke up early and made an impulse decision to go find Fern Creek Fit Body Boot Camp. I was searching for exercise programs in the area and FBBC would often land on my social media site, but I was intimidated by the 30-minute sessions. So, I decided to sit in and watch the classes. I did not previously know anyone that had attended the classes, so I was pretty much walking into the unknown. To my surprise, I was immediately met with nothing but kindness, hardy greetings and acceptance. So, I joined that day.
Because I had joined so many programs over the years and was unsuccessful in all of them, my only goal this time was to simply focus on working out 3-4 times a week. I did not incorporate any eating or lifestyle changes because I believe that was part of my prior downfalls. I would make all these changes all at once in an attempt to lose weight quickly and repeatedly fail when I could not endure. I must admit, I could not keep up with the classes and wanted to give up several times. But as I continued to attend, I soon noticed that I was able to endure the exercises much longer. I started lifting heavier weights, gained more energy and naturally noticed my appetite had begun to change.
So, I increased my water intake and incorporated protein. It was at this point people started to notice the weight loss. Now that I am six months in, I have lost over 25 pounds and have attended over 75 sessions. I am led to believe that this is due to the FBBC program. The program design and trainers they extend are top tier as I have NEVER participated in any health-related program this long."
