RIP — A Farewell to Who She Used to Be
Today I’m honoring a quiet, powerful moment — one I haven’t been able to forget.
Not long ago, I had a check-in call with a client who’s been doing deep, transformative work for the past several months. Before I could even ask how she was doing, she opened with this:
“I’m laying that part of me to rest. I don’t need her anymore.”
There was no drama in her voice — only clarity, strength, and peace.
It stopped me in my tracks.
When she first came to me nearly seven months ago, she was constantly angry, on edge, and exhausted from trying to hold it all together. She didn’t like how she was showing up — not for her family, not for her team, and not for herself. She heard too often how intimidating she was, how her employees felt uneasy bringing her problems. And she hated that. She knew something had to change, but didn’t know where to start.
She reached out. She committed. She showed up. And she did the work.
What’s unfolded since is nothing short of remarkable. We got to the root — not just changing behaviors, but shifting beliefs and healing patterns that had been running the show for years. She learned how to respond instead of react. And in the process, she found her calm. Her clarity. Her power — the true kind.
Now, the people around her are noticing. Her family, her friends, even her employees — they’re asking what’s changed. They see her. They feel the shift. That kind of transformation doesn’t happen by accident.
This is what it looks like to rise.
Not by pretending to be someone else. But by releasing who you no longer need to be.
I get to witness this kind of courage every day. It’s the heartbeat of why I do this work. The path isn’t always easy, but it’s worth every step. And the ripple effects — well, they speak for themselves.
So here’s to the ones who are brave enough to choose differently.
To heal.
To lead.
To live fully aligned with who they’re becoming.
If that’s you — or if you're feeling the nudge — I see you.
Keep going. You’re not alone.
