🟣 Slime fun meets speech therapy! 🟣
We love using slime not just for sensory play, but as a hands-on way to build language skills!

Making slime is a great activity for working on sequencing and following directions—perfect for targeting receptive and expressive language.

Take a look at the first photo to see some of the action words (verbs) we practiced during a recent speech-language session. Then check out the second photo for simple, kid-friendly directions to make your own slime at home or in therapy!

📚 Books are a favorite tool in speech therapy – and for good reason!

Shared book reading is packed with benefits for language development. Here are some fun and easy ways to make story time extra engaging for your child:

✨ Repeat reads are powerful! Don’t be afraid to read the same book multiple times. First time, just explore the pictures. Second time, read the words. Third time, invite your child to join in and share their thoughts!

🐯 Act it out! Use figurines or toys to bring the story to life. No tiger in the book? No problem! Use what you have and get creative – switching up characters can build flexible thinking too.

🏕️ Make reading an adventure! Set up a cozy book nook, read under a blanket fort, or take the story outside on a trampoline.

🎭 Be animated! Use big expressions, fun voices, and dramatic gestures. The more playful you are, the more your child will want to join in!

Books are more than just stories—they’re opportunities to connect, communicate, and have fun! 💬❤️

Looking for a quick way to reset and recharge? This simple breathing technique is a great tool for a sensory break — it can help calm your mind, ease stress, and get your body ready for rest or sleep. 🧘‍♀️💤

Sit or lie down comfortably and relax your body.
Inhale slowly through your nose for 4 seconds.
Hold your breath for 7 seconds.
Exhale slowly through your mouth for 8 seconds, making a gentle whooshing sound.
Repeat the cycle 3 to 4 times, or as needed to relax.
