Giving Tuesday is coming! Spread some love to your favorite non-profits this year. Gifts to the DNA Doe Project, a 501(c)3, are tax deductible. A gift of $3,700 will cover the costs of an entire case. $1,000 will fund DNA extraction from bone or tissue. It costs $1,400 for our lab partner to perform whole genome sequencing on a sample. $400 will pay for bioinformatics, setting up a DNA profile. Upload fees are $200 for GEDmatch and $700 for FTDNA. Donations of any amount provide support for the lab costs, allowing us to work cases regardless of the law enforcement agency’s ability to pay.
