Feeling overwhelmed? Research shows it takes about 20 minutes for stress hormones to clear from your system. When things get heated, taking a break can help reset. If you're in the middle of a conflict with your partner, communicate your need for a break and agree to reconnect once things have calmed down.

This way, you're not avoiding the issue, just allowing time for reflection and calm. And if someone else is stressed, give them space—remember, their reactions stem from stress, not intent.
