Just like sunflowers turn to face the light, we, too, can grow toward what brings us joy. 🌻✨

At Serenity, we believe it’s never too late to blossom. Whether it's learning something new, sharing a story, or simply starting each day with gratitude, every small act of hope is like planting a seed to grow into something beautiful.

This Monday, we’re turning our hearts to the sun and finding strength in the warmth of the present moment.

Keep growing. Keep shining. We’re right here with you. 💛

When life gives us lemons, we add sunshine, laughter, and a spoonful of sugar. 🍋

This week, we’re making Fun Friday a little zestier, channeling all things citrus and sunshine — because life’s better when you squeeze the day. Whether it’s a cold glass of lemonade, a breezy conversation in the courtyard, or a smile shared with a friend, we’re here to celebrate the sweet, simple joys of summer.

At Serenity, we believe every day is an opportunity to refresh, reconnect, and refill your cup. Cheers to that! 💛

If you’ve ever strolled around our tree-lined backyard, you’ve probably seen Gilleland Creek — but did you know it’s named for a real person who once called this land home? 🏞️

James Gilleland was a pioneer, preacher, and early Texas settler. He delivered the first Methodist sermon in Austin’s Little Colony, working in defiance of Mexican law with only a barrel as a pulpit. In the 1830s, he and his wife Dianna chose this very creek as the site of their homestead.

He named this place home — and today, we do too. 🌿

He went on to serve in the Army of the Republic of Texas, and though he died in 1839 from wounds sustained in the Battle of Brushy Creek, his story lives on — right here at Serenity, beside the waters that still bear his name.

At Serenity, we love a good summer day — and we love healthy skin, too! ☀️🧴💛

As temperatures rise, we're making sun protection part of our summer routine — because staying active and safe is what wellness is all about. A wide-brimmed hat, hydration, and SPF is our go-to when we're enjoying our beautiful courtyard.

Did you know? Seniors are more susceptible to sun damage — but also more likely to benefit from vitamin D when exposure is safe and brief.

So we say: enjoy the sunshine, and do it smart! 🌿👒

We couldn’t hog all the fun—so we’re sharing a peek at our pig-themed cupcake day! 🐷🧁

Decorated with snouts, smiles, and more pink frosting than we probably needed (but definitely enjoyed), these little treats brought big joy to the table. 💗

At Serenity, we believe in celebrating the small, sweet moments — the ones that turn dessert into a memory and frosting into a conversation starter.

Today is Bastille Day — a French celebration of resilience, renewal, and revolution. 🇫🇷✨

And what better reminder than this French proverb, meaning “Little by little, the bird makes his nest”?

At Serenity, we believe in the quiet power of daily progress. Whether it’s recovering strength, forming new friendships, or simply embracing each morning with purpose, every step, no matter how small, adds up to something meaningful.

Little by little, we build something beautiful together. 💙🤍❤️

This week’s group art project was bursting with color, laughter, and a blow-up surprise! 🎈🎨🌺

Using balloons instead of brushes, our residents envisioned a field of vibrant poppies — each one uniquely expressive, joyful, and full of life. Hank’s creative take features that signature cherry-red, plus a fun and vibrant pop of purple – and don’t forget that maker’s mark!

Here at Serenity, we celebrate the simple magic of trying something new — and having fun while we’re at it. ❤️💜

What’s more American than burgers on the Fourth of July? 🍔🇺🇸
Grilling them in the rain, of course. ☔💪

Last week, we had the kind of celebration that proves what Serenity is all about—laughter, resilience, and community spirit. When the skies opened up, our fearless CEO Jason fired up the grill anyway — and the burgers? Absolutely worth it.

Because no matter the weather, we show up for each other, with joy, togetherness, and a side of ketchup. ❤️🤍💙

Did you know that optimism can actually boost your health? 🌿🧠💛

Studies show that seniors with a positive outlook are more likely to enjoy better heart health, stronger immune systems, and improved memory. Choosing optimism can help lower stress, increase resilience, and even lead to longer, more vibrant lives.

At Serenity, we see the power of positivity every day in the laughter around the breakfast table, the game nights filled with conversation, and the simple belief that the best moments might still be ahead.

Let's keep growing, together. ☀️

Today’s forecast: fresh fruit, belly laughs, and just a little bit of mischief. ☀️🍭🎨

At Serenity, we believe there’s no age limit on fun. On Be a Kid Again Day, we’re embracing every moment of wonder — whether it’s fixing a treat in the kitchen, painting at the table, or soaking up the Texas sunshine in our vibrant courtyard.

Because joy is timeless. 🩵

Happy Koi Fish Day! In Japanese culture, koi symbolize perseverance and strength through their graceful, steady movement – even against the current. 🐟💙

At Serenity, our residents inspire us every day by embracing life’s journey with determination and joy. Whether it’s learning something new, deepening friendships, or simply enjoying each moment, every step together is a beautiful one.

Here’s to moving forward — with confidence, purpose, and heart.

From flag-flying parades to fresh-off-the-grill burgers, join us in celebrating this Fourth of July with friends, family, and freedom (and just the right amount of sparkle). ❤️🤍💙

At Serenity, we honor independence not only with fireworks, but with laughter, community, and the freedom to live fully at every age. 🇺🇸✨

Here’s to the traditions that bring us together, the culture that unites us, and the everyday moments that remind us we’re home.

The seven-bedroom single story home has both private and shared rooms available for residents. The heart of the home is the kitchen where our meals are prepared onsite by the loving hands of our caregivers. Community activities take place daily in our spacious dining and living rooms. Our manager’s office has open views to the entry, kitchen and living room and it is accessible by residents, medical professionals and families.
