I took Tylenol PM so I only have autism at night. 😴

Now that I have your attention.

Autism has existed since the beginning of time.

There are environmental and genetic factors to consider when understanding this complex neurological and developmental condition.

Spreading false information that there’s a cure further perpetuates the stigma and stereotypes for those with autism.

If you’re currently pregnant please consult with your medical provider and doctor around Tylenol because it can help reduce fevers, reduce the risk of miscarriages from fevers, and help manage pain levels.

To my clients and community with autism. There is nothing wrong with you and nothing to cure. You are beautiful, loved and valued. ❤️

Entrepreneurship is hard. It’s exciting and rewarding. It keeps you up at night and wakes you up early. A blessing and a curse to always do what you love while finding ways to make it better, serve more, and leave an impact before your time is up.

Many entrepreneurs don’t consider their mental health in their business plan. Why would you? Why not!? Your mind is your greatest asset. Protect it and take care of it.

I have some things up my sleeve for y’all. Stay tuned ✌🏽

Business is personal.

You don’t have to see it that way, but your business impacts your legacy, income, and commitment to serving the community.

How you operate as a business owner reveals your true character because when times are hard or when things get tough your values and who you really are come to light.

I’ve learned some valuable lessons in life through business and how I carry myself each day.

I can’t wait to share those lessons with you at Venture Week.

Entrepreneurs are burning out at record rates.

Funding and strategy aren’t enough.

We need to talk about mental health.

✔️ 72% of entrepreneurs struggle with stress, burnout, or isolation.

✔️ When founders break down, businesses break down.

✔️ Resilient leaders = resilient companies.

That’s where I come in.

I help entrepreneurs and organizations build resilience, prevent burnout, and create business cultures that sustain success.

If your chamber, Economic Development Center, or business organization is ready to invest in the mental health of your entrepreneurs, let’s talk.

📩 Book me as a speaker or consultant: www.shanazikonne.com

Join me in October for Venture Pfest where I’ll share more about being an entrepreneur and how I overcame challenges in business and life.

I keep hearing my clients say they will slow down and make themselves a cup of tea. Really? Every check in about tea time was “I got busy,” or “didn’t make time because of work” and yet the assignment is to take 5-10 minutes to make tea. It’s not about the tea. It’s about walking away from your desk to get something for yourself. It’s about not checking emails while the water boils or not rushing to jump on a call before the tea steeps. Next time grab a tea bag and leave it at your desk as a reminder to slow down and make time for tea. If you won’t take 5-10 minutes of your 24 hours to care for yourself I don’t know who else will?

Mindfulness moments can be noticing a color, smell, or any of your senses without distraction when you’re walking, eating or spending time outside.

Pause and breathe. Notice and gently observe a color and stay present without judgment. Notice how you feel before and after and find mindful moments this week. 💐🌻🪻🌹

Minding my own business on a walk and suddenly a black pick up truck passed by and my jaw immediately tingles while my entire body is swept away with grief.

It’s the exact truck model and color my friend Mark had. The truck he would drive me around in and help me set up my first office in Lakeway. The truck that would carry supplies to volunteer events and the memories of the best conversations were often in that truck.

Mark has been gone for years and is one of the people I think of often. My whole family misses him. Everyone that knows him misses him too. He was one of the most tender souls and always helping people. He made the best spaghetti and meatballs. He always had coffee brewing and was the only one that could call me Cooper Cooper (old Facebook name).

Mark and his with Phyllis were the first people I met in Austin and they quickly became family. They would invite us over for the best Italian food and conversations. Mark had a way of lighting up a room. I’m grateful for the time we had but feel like it was too short.

There are times I wish I could call him to ask him for advice and I realize he’s not here. It’s still hard. Grief is a process and I know he will be one I grieve my whole life. ❤️
