Research shows that men interrupt women nearly 3x as often as they interrupt other men.
This doesn’t just happen in meetings—it also shows up in reviews, brainstorming sessions, and leadership conversations.
When women are repeatedly talked over, their ideas are dismissed, their credibility eroded, and their influence sidelined. It’s not just rude. It’s bias in action.
So what can you do? Speak up. Try saying:
🗣️ “I’d love to hear [Name] finish their thought.”
🗣️ “[Name] brought up something important—let’s go back to that.”
And if you're leading, create space by inviting everyone to share:
🔁 “Let’s go around the room.”
🙋🏽♀️ “I’d love to hear [Name]’s take on this.”
