🇺🇸 Honoring Buffalo Soldiers Day 🇺🇸
July 28th

Today, we pause to honor the legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers — the African American men who served with courage and distinction in the U.S. Army after the Civil War, beginning in 1866.

These brave soldiers were members of the 9th and 10th Cavalry Regiments and played a crucial role in the settlement of the American West, including service here in Texas. Despite facing discrimination and hardship, their dedication helped shape the nation’s history and paved the way for future generations.

At McAllen Transitional Care Center, we recognize and remember the strength, perseverance, and patriotism of the Buffalo Soldiers — and we celebrate the diverse contributions that make our country and community stronger.

✅ Laughter really is the best medicine! It can boost your immune system, reduce stress, and even relieve pain. That’s why we encourage smiles and joy every day around our center. 😊

✅ The human brain uses the same amount of energy as a 10-watt light bulb—even when you're sleeping! Rest and recovery are just as important as staying active.

✅ Nurses walk an average of 4–5 miles during a 12-hour shift! 💪 A big thank-you to our amazing staff who go the distance every day to care for our residents.

✅ Your heart beats around 100,000 times a day. That’s a lot of love going around—something we see and share here at McAllen Transitional Care Center!

🎉 Today, we gathered at McAllen Transitional Care Center to celebrate one of our incredible nurses, Adriana! 🩺💐

Adriana has been a dedicated and compassionate member of our team, and while we’re sad to see her go, we’re so excited for her next chapter. Her care, kindness, and heart have made a lasting impact on our residents and staff alike.

We threw a small but heartfelt going away party to show our appreciation and send her off with lots of love and best wishes. 💖

We’re so grateful for the incredible healthcare workers who show up every day with compassion, dedication, and strength. This small gesture was our way of saying thank you for all that you do.
