LiveWell Medical Center’s chief medical clinician is Monica E. Gonzalez, MPAS, PA-C. Mrs. Gonzalez is a highly trained and compassionate state licensed physician assistant that has over 10 years of experience in family and internal medicine, as well as treating patients in the home setting. Mrs. Gonzalez graduated cm laude from the University of Texas Pan American with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology in 2005. She then went on to pursue her studies in the health care field and graduated from UTPA in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. To further enhance her education, Mrs. Gonzalez completed the bridge program and obtained her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies in 2009 from UTPA.
Upon graduation, she knew her calling was to serve the most underserved population of the Rio Grande Valley and sought to work at Nuestra Clinica Del Valle, a community health center. Mrs. Gonzalez worked in the Mercedes office for 8 years (from 2008-2016) where she served thousands of patients and helped manage and control their chronic diseases. In 2016, she then started a new chapter in her career with Donna Medical Clinic and began providing medical care to a different subset of underserved patients- Mrs. Gonzalez provided house calls and home visits to the homebound and limited mobility population. In 2017, Mrs. Gonzalez realized the great need for improved access to medical care and with the support from her husband, family and friends - the journey began to establish LiveWell Medical Center.
Mrs. Gonzalez envisions a different type of health care setting, unique from the current experience one has in most common medical practices by having minimal wait times, skipping any intake by the medical assistant (so as to reduce having to explain things twice), and by offering same day or next day appointments. As a patient of LiveWell Medical Center, our goal is to establish great lines of communication and engage our patients to achieve optimal wellness through prevention and early intervention. LiveWell Medical Center is focused on enhancing the health and wellness of the Rio Grande Valley.
