Just a glimpse into the day at an independent pharmacy....below is an example of how much pharmacies lose on prescriptions due to PBM's.

Entresto 24/26: my cost $680.53, reimbursed $628, lost $51 from Blue Cross Blue Shield Med D
Linzess: My cost $549, reimbursed $534, lost $15 from Humana Part D
Breztri: my cost $641.23, reimbursed $592.46, lost $49 from Express Scripts Part D
Entrest 49/51: my cost $2041, reimbursed $1759, lost $281 from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama.

This loss does not include our "dispensing fee" which they state is $10.49. Do you know what that $10.49 covers? Here is just a few things: bottle, labels, printer ink (all of this to go on your prescription), computer system and program to run the prescription, labor (pharmacy and technicians, utilities (power, water, internet).

How many times do you see Express Scripts, CVS, Walgreens, or Optus RX sponsor a rec ball team? Have you seen their ads in the school year book or on signs at ball fields? What do these companies do to help your town, kids, community?

Now tell me how many times you see a local independent pharmacy that has sponsored a local rec ball team, school year book, school athletics teams? These companies are your local neighbors and feed directly into your town. Please take the time to talk to your local pharmacist and ask how this is affecting them.

Please contact your state representatives and ask they they support SB 99. It has provisions that keep the PBM's from add costing to patients and pharmacies.

We are going to remain closed until roads are opened and safe to drive on.

Update 6:54: We will plan on opening at 12:00 tomorrow as long as the roads will allow us to travel safely. We will update here if there is any changes.

Continuing to look at the weather and Glenn’s Pharmacy will stay open as long as the roads are possible. Once travel becomes problematic, we will close to allow our staff to get home to their families safely. If you need to come tomorrow, please come early.

Please be weather aware this week. There is a cold front coming in with the possibility of snow/ice. We will do all we can to open for regular hours on Tuesday and Wednesday but be prepared for modified hours those days for the safety of our employees. We are open on Monday January 20th for regular operating hours, 9:00 am-6:00 pm EST.
