Article 3: Involuntary Examination and Treatment
301: Says who who may be “Subject to Involuntary Emergency Examination and Treatment”.
302: What happens when some is taken into “Involuntary Emergency Examination and Treatment ”- Less than 120 hrs
303: “Extended Involuntary Emergency Treatment Certified by a Judge or Mental Health Review Officer.” Less than 20 Days.
304: “Court-ordered Involuntary Treatment” 20-90 Days. 2. 301: Who can be taken to treatment against their will.
“People who exhibit, “clear and present danger,” based on previous 30 day history of inflicting or attempting to inflict body harm on another or been shown to have difficulty surviving without intervention, OR su***de attempt, OR credible threats to physically harm self”. 3. 302: What “should” happen when someone is taken to treatment against their will in Pennsylvania.
A provider documents that the person is “severely mentally disabled” and in need of immediate treatment. A county administrator may issue a warrant.
Assessment within 2 hours of arriving at a facility then treatment begins.
