Creating boundaries take work
Once created they work when you work them
The work may be different than what you are used to
And that’s the goal, you are working differently
Which means the process is different
Work is still happening even when it feels like it’s not

It’s easy to hide yourself and your gifts because that is what you were taught to do as a way to “keep you safe”…

But when you never learn to share your talents while keeping yourself safe you experience opportunities where you should shine as opportunities where you are going to be judged and exposed…

Your anxiety and trauma responses are working overtime to keep you safe not realizing that you are being harmed at the same time due to not understanding what the “part” of you that is wanting to share with others is needing…

The healing happens when you get to know your “parts”

I have always been an avid reader
Naturally, being able to put pen to paper
To create, share, release has been impactful
And healing as I navigate life as a healer and creator

I am a strong advocate for creating a journaling practice
It allows you to be honest with yourself & to challenge
Old ways of thinking and being. It is an intimate
Conversation that helps you to create space
And clear the mental fog around what is
Really happening in your reality

Check out my new article discussing How Journaling Can Help You to Be More Calm, Mindful, and Resilient.

Did you read them all? Which one do you need to sit with more closely?

Have you ever felt "Not good enough"? If you answer "No" then you are not being honest with yourself.

Everyone experiences a moment in their lives when doubt crosses their mind about whehter or not they are of something they desire.

However, far too often we see people STOP seeing themselves as deserving, worthy, and good enough after experiencing a few unmet expectations.

Not "being good enough" is a that can be changed if you are willing to see yourself as someone who deserves more than what you have settled for in the past.

Nobody else can decide your worth for you BUT you.

You're not going to believe this, but I thought you should know about the unconscious beliefs black women have.

Don't be alarmed, but you should definitely know that these beliefs can secretly sabotage their personal relationships and sense of self-worth.

And while I'm at it, these beliefs also affect highly educated women too!

Yep, I said it. Unconscious beliefs happen even if people don't want to speak about them.

Today, I'm dropping these truth bombs; but more than that, I want you to know that you still don't need to stress about how it plays into how you show up at work and in relationships.

Here's why:
☝🏾 You can still create an abundant life that gives you the freedom to explore without reservations.

✌🏾Even though these beliefs can happen, there are ways to prevent it, like becoming curious about your unconscious beliefs and making peace with your past.

How do you avoid worrying about things?😀👇🏾

{SHARE + SAVE} 👉🏾 Raise your hand if you need that occasional reminder that “Your Okay”?

Listen, sometimes you are seeking external permission to do something for yourself

When I’m reality, those very things you are desiring, quitting your job, start dating, buying a car, solo traveling are all things you can do if you tell yourself “Its OKAY for me to want this.”

You are not afraid of the new car, the potential partner, seeing new places

You are afraid of the DECISION you have to make prior to getting close to those things

Learning how to “Be OKAY” and let go is all part of the journey to embracing ourselves

Comment below what you are learning to let “BE OKAY”

Didn’t post yesterday (so y’all getting it today)

While the day was productive, I was starting to feel tired

And taking care of myself is #1 before anything else

As the day went by, I ended my last therapy session and thought about the ways in which women, especially women of color have a different teaching of womaning than our counterparts

We learn about silencing ourselves, shrinking ourselves, downplaying our thoughts and feelings all in the name of not wanting to offend others

The harrowing part is that these teachings get passed down from one generation to the next and soo forth

I explained to my client how the current generation is taking on a lot of emotionally jarring issues and topics while changing their narrative of what life, work, family, money, etc. gets to be and who gets access to it

There are people who are watching this generation with admiration and envy

Regardless of where people fall on the spectrum, there is something so RADICAL about women, especially Black Women deciding to:
- speak their truth
- live in their truth
- love themselves through their truth
- heal while being a truth seeker

I love everything about being a woman, especially a BLACK WOMAN
