There is so much info out there, so many great influencers, so much great advise. You can’t keep track or all of it- don’t set yourself up for failure,- you can’t do it all- but you can learn to habit stack, game hack chores, learn what is helpful and what is not. But mostly- set attainable goals for yourself, live intentionally and - everything in moderation. You’ve got this! ❤️

Is venting healthy? Not necessarily- it can prime us to make us hyper focus on the negatives in situations, it can make us re-live difficult moments and it can create more insecurities than it builds capacity. But that is if we are just staying at the level of venting that I coined “emotional w@n€ing”. Helpful venting is called processing- Processing is where we label our feelings- which lowers cortisol, and we can seek validation for our feelings. Once we feel our feelings are valid we can process more and take another look at the situation and possibly re-appraise, we can see that even if our feelings are valid we may have some choice in the situation. A choice to set a boundary, a choice to understand the intent was not corresponding with impact, a choice to not re-victimize ourselves.

A recipe for “happiness”
Not trying to tell you that anxiety isn’t real or if you want to be happy, just think positive (toxic positivity is a thing, for sure!). Life is more complicated than that. But- there are steps we can make throughout our challenging lives that can ensure that we are more present with the positive aspects of what life has to bring,- and these steps are pretty well-evidenced in scientific research.
