May is Mental Health Awareness Month!
At Philly Kids ‘n Nurses, we care about the whole child — body, mind, and heart. This month, we’re celebrating the importance of emotional wellness for kids.
Encourage your little ones to express themselves through fun, mindful activities like:
• Drawing or journaling
• Cooking or crafting with family
• Spending time outdoors
• Practicing calming exercises like this:
SMELL THE FLOWERS Breathing Exercise
1. Sit in a quiet, comfy spot
2. Imagine holding a flower
3. Breathe in deeply through your nose (3 seconds)
4. Exhale slowly through your mouth
5. Repeat until calm!
