Trauma isn’t only a memory—it’s an imprint on your nervous system. We offer somatic therapy to help clients gently release the pain and patterns their bodies have held for years. Unlike traditional talk therapy, somatic therapy focuses on body-based healing, trauma release, nervous system regulation, and mind-body connection.

Persistent patterns often aren’t about willpower. They’re rooted in how your nervous system learned to survive.

EMDR helps the brain reprocess stuck experiences so old reactions stop running the present.

This might look like:

-Repeating the same relationship dynamics
-Strong reactions you can’t control
-Knowing better—but not being able to do better

If you have created patterns that only keep you going instead of letting you feel safe, supported, and at peace, this is for you.

We can help you figure out what it might look like to shift from surviving toward thrivign. Click our link in bio and contact us to see if one of our therapists is a fit.

They might not look productive.

They often don't make sense to other people (or to you).

And they can feel deeply uncomfortable if you don't understand what's happening.

We can help you process through some of this confusion. Click our link in bio and contact us to see if one of our therapists is a fit for your messy (but not for long!) life.

People think understanding their trauma means they’ve healed it.

They can articulate every wound, name every pattern, explain every defense mechanism. But they can’t feel it. They mistake psychological literacy for emotional integration. They analyze instead of grieve.

Hermetic philosophy teaches that healing requires alignment across all planes: mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. Trauma creates fragmentation. The mind splits from the body as a survival strategy.

Peter Levine’s somatic experiencing explains: when emotions are too overwhelming, the prefrontal cortex suppresses the limbic system and the body freezes the energy. You can tell the story without accessing the feeling. This is called intellectualization. A dissociative defense.

Neuroscience shows: insight alone doesn’t rewire trauma. The body holds the score. Until the nervous system completes the incomplete survival response, shaking, crying, rage, the trauma remains stored somatically.

Knowing what happened to you isn’t the same as releasing what happened to you.

Your mind can understand before your body is ready to feel.

Healing isn’t about having the right words. It’s about having the safety to let the words dissolve into sensation.

Have you noticed how clearly you can explain your pain, but how distant it feels when you try to touch it?

Most people start therapy or begin their healing journey because they want relief from pain—something to make the heaviness more manageable, the overwhelm more tolerable. That’s often the doorway in. But as the work deepens, something shifts. It doesn’t take long to realize that healing isn’t just about learning how to hold pain—it’s about expanding your capacity to hold joy, too.

And that can be surprisingly unfamiliar. Joy can feel vulnerable, exposed, even undeserved at times. So much of the work becomes about letting yourself experience it fully—without bracing, without minimizing, without waiting for it to disappear. In many ways, healing is learning how to stay present for the good, not just survive the hard.

Are you ready to EXPERIENCE THE JOY?! Click the link in our bio and contact us.

Ever notice how some emotional reactions feel bigger than the situation?

Emotional regulation is the ability to feel emotions and still choose how to respond. When the brain’s alarm system (the amygdala) becomes overactive and the thinking part of the brain slows down, reactions can feel intense, automatic, or overwhelming.

This can show up as mood swings, shutting down, avoiding conversations, or reacting in extremes.

Often, past experiences shape how our nervous system responds in the present.

Understanding what’s happening in the brain can help us respond with more awareness, compassion, and support—for ourselves and others.

If your identity feels fragmented or unclear right now, that’s more common than you think.

Many people notice different “versions” of themselves pulling in opposite directions—one that wants growth, one that wants safety, one that’s exhausted from holding it all together.

In Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, this is understood as having parts—protective patterns shaped by life experience that influence how we see ourselves, our relationships, and our choices. When those parts are listened to rather than judged or overridden, people often experience a natural re-orientation toward clarity, self-trust, and a more grounded sense of identity.

We offer IFS-informed therapy as a way to help you understand your inner system, reduce internal conflict, and reconnect with who you are beneath survival strategies. If you’re curious whether this approach could support you, visit the link in our bio and choose the “contact us” option to start a conversation.
