Chalfont Pharmacy is wishing all a happy 'Tell an Old Joke' Day, July 24,2025 and hoping to make you smile at our joke. Here goes, ...

A duck walks into a pharmacy and asks for chapstick. The pharmacist asks, “Credit card or cash?” “Neither,” says the duck, “just put it on my bill.”

While our jokes aren't the best, the services we offer are - free in person and mail delivery, low prices and exceptional customer experience every time all of the time. And many more terrible pharmacy jokes - free.... just ask!

- Thyroid hormone medications that restore thyroid hormone levels include include levothyroxine (Synthroid, Levoxyl, Tirosint, Unithroid), liothyronine (Cytomel), and desiccated thyroid (Armour Thyroid) - Levothyroxine is considered most effective.
- You should take all thyroid hormone medications on an empty stomach, at least 4 hours before or after other medications & dietary supplements.
- Typically, you’ll need to take thyroid hormone medications for life. Stopping can cause hypothyroidism symptoms to come back.

1. GET THE SAME TYPE OF THYROID MEDICATION FROM YOUR PHARMACY EVERY TIME. - It’s best to stick to one manufacturer & only switch if your healthcare provider approves.
2. TAKE IT ON AN EMPTY STOMACH, 30 - 60 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR 1ST MEAL OF THE DAY OR 2 HOURS AFTER YOUR LAST MEAL OF THE DAY - Certain foods (whole wheat bread, papaya fruit, coffee, fruit juices, milk-based & soy-containing products) can prevent full absorption.

Happy New Year to All from Chalfont Pharmacy! With New Year’s Eve just days away, you may be considering the resolutions you’re setting for 2025, we're sharing health tips to help you have a great week and year:

1) 🍾 STAY SAFE ON NEW YEAR'S EVE - If you plan on going out, check the weather, designate a sober driver or plan for public transport / ride share services. And to avoid shooting that cork into someone’s eye at midnight - Chill the champagne to 45 degrees Fahrenheit then, hold the bottle with one hand & use the other to twist the cork, nudging it gently out of the bottle and controlling the release of air. After a minute, the cork should come free.
2) 🎆 SKIP THE FIREWORKS & SPARKLERS - Find a professional display, keep children at least 500 feet away & use Pop noise-cancelling headphones.
3) GET BETTER SLEEP - Quality shut-eye (aka “sleepmaxxing) will improve overall wellness, boost your energy, immune system, enhance memory & brain function. Establish a consistent sleep schedule, create a relaxing bedtime routine & limit screen time before bed.
4) ☕ DRINK COFFEE & TEA TO HELP PREVENT CANCER - 4 cups of caffenaited coffee or tea lower risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke, head or neck cancer by up to 17%. They contain anti-inflammatory compounds. Cocoa in hot chocolate & cinnamon in Chai Tea improve blood pressure, cholesterol, fight inflammation & control blood sugar.
5) 🥬 EAT HEART HEALTHY LEAFY GREENS - Pile your plate with Swiss chard, spinach, kale.
6) 🫀 AVOID HEARTBURN WHILE YOU SLEEP - Stop eating 90 minutes before bed & sleep with a wedge pillow.
6) 🐟 HAVE CAVIAR - Its rich in protein, vitamins B12, D, selenium & iron.
7) 🥑 EATS LOTS OF SALMON, AVOCADO & OLIVE OIL FOR LONGEVITY
8) 🚶 GO FOR A BIG WALK - Especially after a meal, it helps regulate blood sugar, improves digestion & prevents energy dips. Just make sure to stay hydrated, wear layers & shoes with proper tread & carry a charged cellphone.
9) 📖 READ A BOOK - To lower heart rate, reduce stress, improve cognition & sleep better.
10) ❄️ CREATE SMART GOALS - Create specific, measurable, achievable, realistic & time-based & reasonable objectives — like walking a specific # of steps each day.
11) 🥗 CHOOSE OMEGA 3 RICH FOODS - Like salmon, mackerel, chia seeds & spinach.
