We are pleased to announce that Rita Chappelle, Chief of External & Congressional Affairs, Outreach and Media was awarded the 2025 State of Pennsylvania's Disabled American Veteran's Commanders Award for Outstanding Assistance to Veterans. She was chosen out of all other Pennsylvania Veterans Health Administration employees for the prestigious award. Several of her fellow VA employees from VHA's Center for Development and Civic Engagement, the Veterans Benefits Administration and the National Cemetery Administration were also honored by the DAV.

The Philadelphia VA Healthcare System is proud to announce that Christopher A. Lorenc, MS-PAS, PA-C has been elected as President of the Veteran Affairs Physician Assistant Association (VAPAA). VAPAA is a constituent organization of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA). It champions the interests of PAs working in the VA system with a goal of improving both the quality and access to care for Veterans. It is a two-year appointment.
