๐ŸŽณ Adaptive Sports & Bowling Event โ€“ Mission Accomplished

On Thursday, January 8, 2026, the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center hosted an Adaptive Sports & Bowling session for our Veteran amputees at Lucky Strike Bowling Alley, Cherry Hill, NJ. From 12:00โ€“2:00 p.m., approximately 30 Veterans demonstrated remarkable skill, determination, and camaraderie on the lanes.

We extend our appreciation to:
โ€ข Tim Llewellyn, Physical Therapist, event lead
โ€ข Kellie Corcoran, Interim Chief, Recreation Therapy, co-lead

Their expertise and commitment ensured a safe, engaging environment that fostered rehabilitation, wellness, and peer support.

Thank you to every Veteran who participated, as well as to our staff and volunteers who made this event possible. Adaptive sports remain an essential component of whole-health care, empowering Veterans to achieve their personal goals and enhance quality of life.

For information on upcoming adaptive sports opportunities, please contact the Recreation Therapy Service at 215-823-5800.

Join us on Thursday, March 19th as we honor New Jersey's last surviving Original Montford Point Marine Gunnery Sergeant Roosevelt Farrow, who turned 97 on Valentine's Day. He and 20,000 African American men integrated the US Marine Corps between 1942-1949 and played pivotal roles during WWII in key battles around the globe. We will also watch the El Dorado Films mini-movie about his life. Join us on Teams, attend in-person or watch on Facebook LIVE!

MARCH 26, 2026-Together We Remember: Unaccompanied Veterans Ceremony
Unaccompanied Veterans Service โ€“ Washington Crossing National Cemetery

Each month, we gather as a grateful nation to pay final respects to veterans who served with honor but have no family or loved ones present. Though unaccompanied, they are never aloneโ€”not when fellow citizens stand in their place.

๐Ÿช– The Unaccompanied Veterans Service is held on the last Thursday of each month, with exceptions in November and December due to the holidays.

๐Ÿ“… Next Service Date:
Thursday, March 26, 2026
๐Ÿ•’ Time: 2:00 PM
๐Ÿ“ Location: Shelter 1, Washington Crossing National Cemetery

This solemn tribute is open to the public. Veterans, service members, families, community groups, and patriotic individuals are encouraged to attend. Your presence ensures that no veteran is laid to rest without dignity or remembrance.

Honor. Respect. Commitment.
Join us in keeping that promise.
