It's time for Pennsylvania to license our music therapists and bring over $100 million in annual revenue back into our economy.

Licensure will allow insurance reimbursement for music therapy services, keeping more of our graduates and small business owners in-state while expanding access to critical, evidence-based healthcare for tens of thousands of Pennsylvanians.

I sat down with Philly Daily along with Madison Frank, M.M.T, MT-BC, Dr. Nicole Hahna, and Audrey Hausig to discuss the outcomes of our work and the impact of Senate Bill 579, a bipartisan bill co-sponsored by 14 state senators.

Always honored to lead the Multiple Sclerosis support group at Moss Rehab. Today we completed Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) exercises focused on maintaining speech and cognition. NMT is a powerful system that uses rhythm and melody to support and treat the neurological symptoms of MS. Grateful to be part of the journey with such a resilient group!

Is your child in need of specialized therapy in New Jersey?

Sky Music Therapy is pleased to announce that our Neurologic Music Therapy services are now eligible for reimbursement through the New Jersey Catastrophic Illness in Children Relief Fund (CICRF). This means families of children under 22 years old can receive financial assistance for therapeutic services.

The CICRF offers financial assistance to NJ families who have extraordinary expenses related to their child’s medical or mental health conditions, regardless of income or diagnosis. If your family's medical expenses exceed 10% of your household income, you may qualify for coverage, including therapies like ours.

Like physical, occupational, or speech therapy, Neurologic Music Therapy targets specific areas such as motor skills, speech and language development, and cognitive function, helping children achieve functional goals in everyday life.

Have you ever had trouble focusing? Do you notice how much easier it is to focus on music? In Neurologic Music Therapy®, we systematically retrain the brain’s ability to maintain attention through a technique called Musical Attention Control Training (MACT)®.

I recently had the pleasure of speaking at the New Jersey Maressa Center for Multiple Sclerosis (MS). As a group, we listened to specific songs to identify pre-determined lyrics or instruments. This exercise not only improves cognitive function and manages MS symptoms effectively but also makes the process enjoyable.

It was wonderful to see the group's enthusiasm when experiencing the retraining of brain function through Neurologic Music Therapy®!

This past Saturday, Nick joined Jefferson Health to provide an introduction to Neurologic Music Therapy and Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation for people living with Multiple Sclerosis.

We use Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation (RAS) to improve gait by using auditory rhythm (such as metronomes and specific songs) to improve the control of movement for those with walking deficits.

Had a great weekend hosting a drum circle at the 2023 Walk for Williams Syndrome! This walk raises funds to provide programming, resources and supporting research for those in the Williams Syndrome community.

Williams Syndrome is a genetic condition that is present at birth and is characterized by medical problems, including cardiovascular disease, developmental delays, and learning challenges. These often occur side by side with striking verbal abilities, highly social personalities, and an affinity for music.
