2025 Tax Brackets You Should Know! 💙
💬 Most home care workers in Pennsylvania fall into the 12% or 22% range, and some into the 24% federal tax bracket - plus the flat 3.07% PA state tax. That means you’re not taxed at one flat rate—you’re taxed in steps, so only the income in each range is taxed at that rate.
Here’s a quick look at the 2025 federal tax brackets for most working caregivers. These apply to your taxable income—that’s your income after deductions like the standard deduction:
📌 Single Filers
10% on income after the standard deduction up to $11,925
12%: $11,925 – $48,475
22%: $48,475 – $103,350
24%: $103,350 – $197,300
📌 Married Filing Jointly
10% on income after standard deduction up to $23,850
12%: $23,850 – $96,950
22%: $96,950 – $206,700
24%: $206,700 – $394,600
✅ What to keep in mind:
• The standard deduction is going up to $15,750 for single and $31,500 for married couples—this reduces your taxable income
💥 No federal tax on the first $12,500 of overtime pay!
If you make less than $150,000 a year, your first $12,500 of overtime pay in 2025 is 100% federal tax-free! 🙌 That means more of your hard-earned money stays with YOU.
• You can still get credits like the Child Tax Credit if you qualify
• If you earn extra from overtime or a second job, it could bump you into the next bracket—plan ahead so you’re not caught off guard at tax time!
