At Pathways to Housing PA, those who have experienced chronic homelessness start with the safety and stability of a home. Once they are inside, our team helps with the next steps, including health care, employment, and other supports that help build a foundation for lasting change. Our mission is simple: end homelessness and help people reclaim their lives. A home is just the beginning.

The National Low Income Housing Coalition’s new Out of Reach 2025 report highlights what we see every day: the cost of rent far outpaces what many people can afford. This makes it even harder for people to maintain stable housing and increases the risk of homelessness. The report dives deeper into the issue, providing state-by-state data and an online interactive tool to explore local housing affordability. We encourage you to read the full report here:

shows how difficult it is for renters to find affordable housing. Find out how much a renter must earn to afford a modest home at https://nlihc.org/oor

📣 Calling all Philly artists and designers! We are now accepting applications to participate in the upcoming Furnished for Good event in Spring 2026. This year's theme, Rest & Resilience, reflects on both the power of rest and the strength it takes to keep going. Selected artists will create or donate works for our one-of-a-kind auction, which raises funds to support Pathways to Housing PA’s mission to end homelessness in Philadelphia.

Applications are open through September 26, 2025. Artists can participate in a variety of ways, including upcycling a piece of furniture from the Philadelphia Furniture Bank, creating original artwork, designing wearable art, donating existing pieces, or producing live art during the event.

Last week, our new mural was installed in the 3rd floor lobby of our offices! More than 50 participants contributed their time and creativity to help bring this project to life, resulting in an incredible final piece. Thank you so much to our muralist, Becky McIntyre (), for thoughtfully weaving together staff and participant ideas into a design that genuinely reflects who we are. We're just sharing a sneak peek for now, but stay tuned for the full unveiling later this year!

Please join us in congratulating four amazing staff members who recently hit major work anniversaries. Their dedication, compassion, and care for our participants truly make Pathways what it is.

Ken Wilson (13 years) is a Certified Peer Specialist and a longtime staple of Pathways. Whether he’s bringing participants to meetings, moving someone in, or simply showing up when someone needs support, Ken leads with care. He brings a unique, personal perspective to his work and uses it to build strong, trusting relationships. We’re grateful to have Ken on our team.

Reese Clark (12 years) has worn many hats over the years, from Service Coordinator to Clinical Operations Manager to Assistant Team Leader. He says he stays because “I love what I do... seeing the outcomes and success stories makes it all worth it.” Our participants really enjoy working with him too! We’re thankful for the energy and care Reese brings every day.

Evie Quinn (10 years) is the unofficial backbone of Team 3. She brings a steady, joyful presence to the office every day. Often ensuring there's fresh coffee ready for folks, Evie is welcoming, honest, and knows how to hold folks accountable. Evie keeps it real, and we’re lucky to have her!

Christine Oleskey (10 years) began in HR and found her home in our community inclusion department, supporting alumni and shared housing participants. She’s a familiar face to many and always ready to lend a hand to any staff or participant who needs it. We're grateful for Christine and her generous spirit!

Thank you, Ken, Reese, Evie, and Christine. We appreciate you and your commitment to our participants and our mission. đź’™

This photo from our 2023 annual cookout features some staff and participants on Team 3, one of several teams at Pathways that specialize in supporting participants with higher health needs. Teams 1 through 3 work with folks living with serious mental illness, complex medical conditions, or both. These teams provide intensive, long-term support to help participants remain housed and connected to care. We can't wait for this year’s cookout later this summer!

Experts say the "One Big Beautiful Bill" could deepen the housing divide, boosting investors and high-income buyers while leaving low-income renters and first-time buyers behind. Cuts to key energy and housing programs may worsen affordability and stall new construction in the communities that need it most. Read more from Newsweek:

The bill is likely to benefit high-end buyers and real estate professionals while lower-income Americans continue to struggle.
