One effective way I’ve helped clients overcome the sedentary hurdle is by suggesting alternatives to traditional exercise. My favorite recommendation is whole body vibration (WBV), similar to the one in my office.
It’s low impact, gentle, and accessible, especially for those seeking recovery from a recent flare-up or dealing with discomfort, fatigue, soreness, or limited mobility.
WBV can stimulate lymphatic flow through the vessels and nodes, providing your body with the lymphatic support it needs without requiring an intense workout.
Here a few of my “go-to” exercises:
🌟Calf Raises
- How: Stand tall, feet together. Rise onto toes, hold, then lower.
- Reps: 12–15 slow lifts.
- Why: Pumps lymph from ankles up, helping reduce lower-leg congestion.
🌟 Standing Alternating Weight Shift
- How: Stand on vibration plate; shift weight side-to-side, keeping slight knee bend.
- Reps: 20–30 shifts.
- Why: Promotes asymmetrical fluid release and challenges proprioception.
🌟 Seated Vibration (for Thigh & Hip Circulation)
- How: Sit on the edge of the plate (if safe) or on a raised surface with feet on plate. Keep a slight bend in knees.
- Time: 1–2 minutes.
- Why: Stimulates circulation without full weight bearing for those in rehab or with limited mobility.
