NEW! Functional Flow with Alan on Tuesday Nights 🙌🏼

We’re excited to share that Alan is now teaching Functional Flow every Tuesday evening from 6:30–7:30pm.

If you haven't tried Functional Flow yet, it feels like a cohesive, familiar yoga class—beginning with Surya Namaskar to warm the body and ending with a grounding cool-down to support relaxation and recovery. What sets this class apart is the intentional integration functional movement and strength components woven seamlessly into the flow.

These functional movements are designed to:
⭐️ Improve squat patterns for lower-body strength and stability
⭐️ Reinforce hinge patterns to protect the low back and build posterior-chain strength
⭐️ Build hamstring strength, particularly around the tendon attachments commonly stressed in yoga
⭐️ Strengthen the hip flexors to reduce tightness and support healthy mobility
⭐️ Develop isometric joint strength to enhance stability and help prevent injury.

Traditional yoga repetition can sometimes leave certain areas under-supported.

Functional Flow was created to fill in those gaps—helping you build strength where it’s needed most while improving mobility for a more resilient, balanced body.

Brand New Beginners 4-week Series 🤗

🗓️ Wednesdays starting January 21st

Maha’s Brand New Beginners Series will help you feel confident about stepping onto a mat so you can finally have a regular yoga practice! Learn how to keep yourself safe as you dive into the basic tenets of a yoga practice, and move from the absolute beginning towards a practice that will be with you over the long haul.💫

This series gives you all the foundational knowledge about the breath, yoga postures, and studio culture so you can rest assured you’ll feel comfortable practicing yoga at home and in the studio when the series ends.

Although this series is geared towards brand new beginners, those with experience are welcome to join! ✨If you’ve done yoga but have gotten away from your regular practice, give this series a try as a way back to your mat.

Yoga is not a quick fix 💭

➡️ When I finally decided to do something about my years of low back pain, I tried everything—chiropractic care, physical therapy, acupuncture—and while each helped for a moment, the pain always returned.

The truth was simple: I sit a lot, my hip flexors were tight, and weak! And no matter how much I wanted to avoid sitting, it was part of my life. I couldn’t remove the trigger altogether.

What I’ve learned is that it’s not about “fixing” my back forever—it’s about managing it. I still get flare-ups after long drives, busy days, or shoveling snow. But now I know how to work with my body instead of fighting it. 🤗

Have the courage to try something new in 2026 💭

➡️ January is a season of beginnings.

And yet—starting something new can feel harder as we get older. Not because we can’t learn, but because being a beginner takes courage. There’s vulnerability in not knowing what you’re doing, in stepping into unfamiliar territory.

But here’s the truth: it’s never too late to begin again. 💫

Walking into your first yoga class can feel intimidating. I still remember mine vividly—thinking, “Wait… downward-facing dog is a resting pose?!”

I’m so grateful I showed up anyway. That first moment of discomfort opened the door to a practice that has supported me through every season of life. Yoga has become a steady place to land, especially during challenging times.
