The House’s "big, beautiful bill" requires states to pay for a portion of food benefit costs — changes that would oblige Pennsylvania to pay more than $1 billion to cover the cost of SNAP benefits.

Philly SPROUT, a partnership between PHMC subsidiaries Joseph J Peters Institute and National Nurse-Led Care Consortium, will present the First Annual Philly SPROUT Summit on Saturday, May 17 from 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at 4601 Market Street.

Philly SPROUT (Philadelphia Supporting Parenting Relationships through Outreach, Understanding, and Training) is designed to support child development and improve infant and early childhood mental health ( ). The summit will offer opportunities for professional development and resource sharing, benefiting leadership and admin staff as well as front-line providers across IECMH sectors. The event includes a keynote presentation from Dr. Brenda Jones Harden, Ph.D., MSW, a networking lunch cohosted with PA-AIMH, and an interdisciplinary panel discussion.

April 11-17 marks , a national campaign focused on building awareness of the high rate in the U.S. and its disproportionate impact on Black women. Through the Philadelphia Nurse-Family Partnership program, PHMC subsidiary National Nurse-Led Care Consortium is working to address the needs of low-income Philadelphians who are pregnant and parenting to help all families get off to a strong, healthy start.
