Your Embodied Birth: Movement, Advocacy & Wisdom

This isn't just another workshop, we're kicking off something big. The very first step in a brand-new, fully overhauled birth support network here at Uprising ACM.

Led by perinatal yoga instructor Jenn Rose (.wolf.yoga) and doula Shelby Cleveland (), this offering weaves together gentle movement, doula-led education, and real talk in a guided sharing circle. You’ll explore how movement, environment, and personal advocacy all shape your birth experience, and leave with tools like birth mapping to help you approach the unknown with both clarity and flexibility.

This is a space for all birth experiences and parenting journeys—no matter your path, you’re welcomed and respected here. Birthing Support Persons are encouraged to attend, and we hold space for every identity, body, and birth plan.

We believe that creating community as you enter into parenthood is essential. You weren’t meant to do this alone. This is the beginning of a deeper, long-term commitment to supporting families at every step of the perinatal journey.

We’re so excited to grow this with you.

Ishvara Pranidhana, meaning surrender to something greater, asks us to soften our grip.

Not because we are weak, but because control is an illusion that exhausts us.
Not because we stop caring, but because white-knuckling everything is not working.

This practice is not about passivity. It is about trust.
About making room for something larger than our fear or our plans.

And it does not have to be the god of our mothers, or even a god at all.
It can be a surrender to nature. To breath. To rhythm.
To the truth that much of what we are trying to manage is simply not in our hands.

Right now, many of us are carrying too much.
We are trying to solve everything, hold everyone, fix what we cannot fix.
We are tired. And still we clench.

Ishvara Pranidhana invites us to release.
To loosen the jaw. To let the shoulders drop.
To remember that letting go is not the same as giving up.

When we surrender, we create space for the unexpected.
We leave the door open for relief, for wisdom, for grace.

This is not about avoiding action.
It is about remembering that we are not alone.
That we are part of something we do not have to control in order to belong to.

Svadhyaya, meaning self-study, asks us to turn inward.

Not because the world isn’t worth engaging, but because we lose ourselves when we never stop to listen.
Not because it’s comfortable, but because self-awareness is a form of strength.

This practice is not about judgment. It is about curiosity.
About noticing our patterns without shame and choosing alignment instead of autopilot.

Right now, many of us are overloaded with noise.
The scroll is endless. The narratives are competing.
It is easy to become scattered and to forget who we are and what we care about.

Svadhyaya invites us to pause.
To reflect. To journal. To be honest with ourselves, even when it is uncomfortable.
To notice where we are living out of habit and where we are living with intention.

When we study ourselves, we become harder to shake.
We know what is ours and what is not.
We start to respond from truth, not trauma.

This is not just personal. It is powerful.
Self-knowledge helps us resist what does not serve and return to what does.

Shaucha, meaning purity or clarity, asks us to clear the path.

Not because we are dirty or wrong, but because life accumulates.
Not because minimalism is trendy, but because simplicity can be medicine.

This practice is not about control. It is about awareness.
About noticing what weighs us down and choosing what lightens us.

Right now, most of us are overstimulated.
Our minds are cluttered. Our homes are crowded. Our time is stretched.
And in all of that noise, our clarity gets buried.

Shaucha invites us to reset.
To cleanse gently. To move toward what brings ease and honesty.
To simplify, not to shrink, but to make space for what is real.

When we choose clarity, we see more clearly.
We breathe deeper. We act with intention.
We no longer mistake chaos for momentum.

This is not about being pure.
It is about making room to be present.

This is yoga for life.

Tapas, meaning inner fire or disciplined effort, asks us to stay steady through discomfort.

Not because we enjoy struggle, but because growth often lives on the other side of resistance.
Not because we have to push all the time, but because a little heat creates strength, clarity, and momentum.

This practice is not about burnout. It is about commitment.
About showing up even when it would be easier to check out.

Right now, many of us are stretched thin.
It feels easier to scroll, to numb, to wait.
But avoidance is not rest.
And often, the task we are avoiding is the very thing that will quiet the noise inside.

Tapas reminds us that discipline can deescalate suffering.
It can interrupt the spiral. It can clear space where panic was building.
Sometimes, doing what you know is good for you is what stops the emotion you are trying to outrun.

Tapas invites us to focus.
To build a rhythm of care and consistency.
To take one breath, one step, one practice at a time.

When we lean into effort with compassion, something changes.
We stop reacting and start responding.
We stop spiraling and start choosing.

Discipline gives us structure. It anchors us to the present.
It is not punishment. It is how we stay connected to what matters.
