Our services aim to help seniors to remain in their communities and homes as long as possible.

Catholic Housing and Community Services (CHCS) of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia provides support and services to older adults within the five-county region (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties). Services include senior centers, senior clubs, in-home support, parish-based support programs, partnerships with health systems, and senior housing communities. Last year, we served nearly 7,000 seniors throughout the Philadelphia region.

Every day, their vital work helps us empower and uplift our community. Saint Louise de Marillac, patron saint of social workers, pray for us!

St. Monica Eldercare Program in South Philadelphia is currently interviewing for paid substitutes as a care partner! If you enjoy working with seniors, are able to vacuum, assist with laundry, local errands, and bed linen changes, you would be an ideal candidate. The care partner visits the senior for two hours weekly and helps as needed. Hours and days are flexible.

Yesterday Star Harbor Senior Community Center's choir and Norris Square Senior Community Center's Grupo Alegria dance club joined Archbishop Nelson Perez for the official launch of the 2025 Catholic Charities Appeal! CCA is the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s single most important fundraiser, benefiting hundreds of thousands of people through countless organizations and ministries in the Archdiocese.

The Mission of Catholic Housing and Community Services is rooted in the Mission of the Roman Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

Catholic Housing and Community Services is committed to excellence in the provision of care because we believe that all people, created in the image and likeness of God, possess an innate dignity and destiny.
