Endings and new beginnings ✨

Today, I packed up my office in a landmark building, the Wells Fargo Building on S. Broad St, that has been home to my counseling practice for the past 8 years. Next week, I’m moving just down the road to a new space—more details coming soon!

And exciting news to share: Re:Story Counseling Services LLC is now an LLC and offering clinical supervision to those pursuing LPC licensure in the state of Pennsylvania. Bonus: I am an IFSI level 1 trained therapist. Grateful for the growth and looking forward to what’s ahead.

Yep, yep. IFS at its best.

In every family, unspoken roles take shape:
The peacekeeper.
The scapegoat.
The caretaker.
The invisible one.
The golden child.

Each role comes with its own hidden burdens. You do what you must do in order to stay connected. . .but often at the cost of your own self.

The golden child? They're the one who gets it “right"—at least on the surface. But they often learn how to shine for others—while slowly dimming their own needs. They become who everyone else wanted them to be. . . and often forget—or never really learned—who they really are.

Healing starts with recognizing the role you played. With asking, What did I have to give up to be "golden”? Because there’s a cost to every role—even the one that looks the most “esteemed."

You don’t have to earn love by always being who others want you to be.

Start by asking yourself:
"What’s one small step I can take today to stay true to myself?"
—Say what I really feel?
—Rest instead of perform?
—Let someone see the real me, not just the polished version?

For those of us who are highly empathetic, it's easy to prioritize others. It's harder to remember that true strength comes from honoring your own needs, emotions, and God-given limits.

When you show up for yourself—through self-respect, self-compassion, and setting boundaries—you’re better able to show up for the people you love.

I’m thrilled to share that I have officially completed my Level 1 Certification in Internal Family Systems (IFS) through the IFS Institute. This training has deepened my ability to support clients in navigating their inner worlds with greater self-compassion, curiosity, and healing guided by the Spirit-led Self.

IFS is a powerful, evidence-based approach that helps individuals understand and integrate different parts of themselves, leading to more clarity, balance, and Self-leadership. I look forward to bringing this work more fully into my practice and continuing to support meaningful transformation.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey—I’m excited for what’s ahead!
