Today, we would like to highlight Natasha Wallace. Natasha has worked at SBR and with Gina for over 20 years. She will also be honored Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services later this month. Natasha ensures Gina's well-being and encourages her to be an active member of the Community. Due to Natasha's dedication and commitment, Gina is known throughout the community and enjoys many daily activities, such as dance class, advocacy events with Vision For Equality and volunteering. We met up with Bibi Arjun and Justine for DSP Week. Bibi has been a Direct Support Professional at SBR for over 15 years. She believes patience and a passion for helping others contribute to her success. Bibi is never bored, and there isn't a day that she wakes up and doesn't want to go to work. Justine loves being out in the community with Bibi and spending time with her friends, going to the gym, and bowling. Today, we would like to acknowledge Direct Support Professional Rebecca Dever. Rebecca has been a caregiver for over 30 years and has been a DSP with SBR for just under 2 years. Rebecca has always been inclined to help people. While she does admit that being a Direct Support Professional can be exhausting on some days, she truly enjoys her career. She loves to be out in the community with the individuals that she supports and recognizes the importance of choice and fostering independence. Thank you, Rebecca, for all that you do!

Congratulations to our Home-Based Direct Support Professional, Saye G Bunnah. Saye will be receiving an Honorable Mention Award from Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services for his work as a DSP. Saye creates an environment of self-advocacy and choices for Shane and Julius, whom he works with daily. He believes in empowering individuals and fostering independence. During DSP Week, we would like to recognize our outstanding Direct Support Professionals. Last year, Kathleen Laverty was awarded the prestigious Pennsylvania Advocacy and Resources for Autism and Intellectual Disability DSP Advocate of the Year for her outstanding advocacy work with her brother, Chris. Today, she is still an active advocate for her brother and the disability community. Kathleen and Chris have traveled to Harrisburg, met with local Legislators, including Senator Joe Picozzi Senator Joe Picozzi and Office of the Governor of Pennsylvania, and wrote letters in support of Medicaid. Kathleen and Chris are consistently promoting inclusion wherever they go! Thank you, Kathleen, for all your hard work.

Today is the start of DSP Week, and we can't wait to honor all our hardworking, dedicated Direct Support Professionals. They are often unsung heroes, providing individuals with the ability to live independent and inclusive everyday lives. From personal care, community participation, and life skills maintenance and development, our DSPs are the backbone of what we, as an organization, do daily. There aren't enough words to express our gratitude.
