Did you know that Leptospirosis is now recommended as a core vaccine for dogs? It’s a zoonotic disease, meaning it can spread to humans too—another great reason to keep our pets up to date and protected!

🎆 Fourth of July Reminder for Pet Owners 🐶🐱

While fireworks are a fun part of celebrating Independence Day for us, they can be terrifying for our furry friends. Loud noises and bright flashes can cause pets to panic and even run away in fear.

❤️ Here are a few simple ways to help keep your pets safe and calm:
• 🏠 Keep them indoors during fireworks, ideally in a quiet, secure room.
• 🐕 Give them plenty of exercise earlier in the day to help reduce anxiety.
• 🎶 Consider playing calming music or white noise to help mask the sound of fireworks.
• 🆔 Make sure they’re wearing updated ID tags or are microchipped, just in case.

In observance of Independence Day, our office will be closed on Friday, July 4th. We will reopen on Monday at our regular business hours.

If your pet needs any medication refills, please contact us before the holiday weekend to ensure timely processing.

In case of an emergency while we are closed, please contact BluePearl Emergency Hospital in Levittown or Langhorne, PA.

⚠️ Party Animal Beware: Keep Pets Safe This BBQ Season

Summer gatherings are a great time to relax and enjoy good food, but they can pose hidden dangers to our pets.

🔥 Keep pets away from the grill to prevent serious burns and accidental injuries.

🚫 Be extra cautious about what they might eat — even small amounts of common cookout foods can be harmful:
• Bones can splinter and cause choking or internal damage
• Corn on the cob can lead to dangerous intestinal blockages
• Fatty meats can trigger pancreatitis, a painful and potentially life-threatening condition

Our pets don’t know what’s safe and what isn’t — it’s up to us to protect them. A few simple precautions can prevent an emergency vet visit.

Due to the severe storm that passed through last night, our hospital is currently without power. Crews are working to restore service, but there are widespread outages and damage in the area, including downed trees and powerlines.
