Did you know that PAATA has a licensure memo in the PA House of Representatives, and we are only a few sponsors away from having a live bill in the PA Senate? PAATA needs your help to advance our cause! Join us for an important Legislative Advocacy Hill Day at the Pennsylvania State Capitol in Harrisburg on Tuesday, March 24 from 8:30 AM–4:00 PM.

During Hill Day, PAATA members will meet with several state legislators in short 30-minute appointments to help them better understand the field of art therapy and to advocate for the need for an independent art therapy license (L.P.A.T.) in Pennsylvania.

If you’ve never participated in legislative advocacy before, please don’t worry. We will hold a virtual preparation meeting on Thursday, March 19 at 7:30 PM, where we’ll walk you through exactly what to expect and what to say when speaking with legislators.

Join PAATA for Art Therapy Advocacy Hill Day – March 24 in Harrisburg ⭐️

Did you know that PAATA has a licensure memo in the PA House of Representatives, and we are only a few sponsors away from having a live bill in the PA Senate? To make a strong impact, we need a robust team of art therapists representing our profession. Your presence helps demonstrate the importance of art therapy services and the need for licensure in Pennsylvania.

Join us in February for an experiential introduction to Social Action Art Therapy that centers body-image, gender-affirming embodiment, and social messaging. In this hands-on workshop, participants will decorate a wooden mini-mannequin while engaging research, harm-reduction, and expressive art-making to foster self-acceptance, advocacy, and culturally responsive practice.
