Whether you are celebrating major wins from 2025, ready to run far, far, far away from 2025, or simply sitting in the ashes left behind from 2025, we want to remind you: just because your highlight reel from the year may not look like others you are seeing all over social media doesn’t mean the fact that you survived the last 365 days isn’t just as important (perhaps even more so!). ❤️‍🩹

So if you’re reading this and needing a reminder that the breath you are taking now is proof of your badassery (sorry for the language, y’all, but really!) - here it is! 🎉

TAC wishes our Anchor Family a safe, peaceful, and love filled Thanksgiving! 🍁

To all those who are facing a meal with an empty chair, are estranged from so-called family, have children away due to visitation orders, are too far physically from family to be together today, are otherwise unable to be with those they love and/or feel up to celebrating this holiday season: our hearts ache for you and are with you. It’s okay to do absolutely nothing if that is what is needed today. There is no rulebook on holiday etiquette that overrides what boundary you need to hold to survive.

Please be gentle with yourselves and each other this holiday season. ❤️‍🩹 It can be a very difficult time for some and we are all simply doing the best we can.

Great share, Insight Counseling & Consulting, LLC! 🎯 This goes for all the labels we throw around so lightly these days.

And just so those in the back can hear me: If you walk around talking about how a person in your life is “the problem,” perhaps take a moment to reflect and make sure YOU aren’t the reason they became who they now are in your eyes. 🎤 Some people are quick to talk about the reaction and response they received from someone but sure forget to explain what they did or said to create that explosion in the first place. 🫢

You aren’t your diagnosis. Your diagnosis is evidence of what you have been through and with the right therapist, it can work as a roadmap toward healing. ⚓️

Of all the frustrations I have with this field (and there are many), phrases like this bother me the most. Life is hard, people are complex, and diagnoses are starting points and not finish lines.

Labels have weight. Be mindful of that weight and how it influences you. Always treat people with curiosity, openness, and love. Many have been so badly hurt. Many need someone who will witness them compassionately.

Trust that the clients sitting with you are oriented towards resilience and healing. Find their pain AND find what makes them amazing and hold both deep in your heart. ♥️

Let today serve as a reminder that you are totally enough and worthy and valuable exactly as you are in this moment! So go and be your unique, one-of-a-kind self! ⚓️

It is with great sorrow that I must share what still feels unfathomable. Unreal. Impossible.

After six short years on this earth, my beautiful, perfect, brilliant, compassionate, funny, loving, strong willed Piper Lou left us and went to Heaven Sunday morning.

Piper Lou was so much more than just TAC’s therapy dog. She was my baby, my personal emotional support animal, my shadow. She was my safe place. My quiet in the noise. And now…the noise is far too loud. It Is humbling to know that she was also so much of this for our Anchor family.

TAC will be closed until Wednesday, October 15, 2025, to allow for a moment of mourning as we begin the process of saying goodbye to one of the greatest pups to ever exist.

You are forever our goodest girl, Pipes. You are forever loved. And you will be forever missed. ⚓️

Eight years ago today, The Anchor Clinic opened its doors and welcomed our first official member of the Anchor Family to continue their healing journey. Hundreds of patients later, “thank you” simply doesn’t express the gratitude I feel adequately. The gratitude and honor that comes with being allowed to sit in the valleys, celebrate the wins, mourn the losses, and help navigate all the twists and turns of life along side some of the most resilient, incredible, extraordinary people I have ever known.

The number 8 is deeply personal to me. Not only because of my or my daughter’s August birthday, along with various heartbreaks and struggles in Augusts past, but the number eight also symbolizes new beginnings, rebirth, and spiritual renewal. In a time when the nation I love is in turmoil, the world is on fire, and the devil is having a heyday with the abundance of vulnerability of us all, marking eight years feels like a Godsend.

A reminder that we are who we are for a purpose. Our pain has purpose. Our peace is worth fighting for. YOUR peace is worth doing all the hard things to recapture. Or perhaps to find peace for the first time in your life. You are worthy of peace!

As loud as the winds of your storm are howling right now, please hear me:
This storm will pass.
When the dust settles, another may come.
But you, yes - YOU, can and will survive it.
You can learn to dance in the rain.
Shine brighter than the lightning.
Embrace the thunder.
And find peace even in the midst of the hurricane.
How do I know? I’ve been there. I’ve also sat with countless others as they began to realize that the storm was never meant to destroy them - it only served to clear the way ahead to rebuild an even better future.

So thank you, Anchor Fam, for allowing me into the most broken and beautiful places of your heart. I look forward to continuing this work and watching even more of you regain the light in your eyes that you may have thought was gone forever. Together, we can weather any storm. ⚓️

We wanted to let our Anchor family know that the clinic will be closed through Tuesday, August 5th. We will return all messages, emails, and voicemails in the order in which they were received when we return. Thank you all for being such an important part of our Anchor fam! ⚓️

While we hold on to hope that our great Nation will someday find her way back to the land we love, One Nation, undivided, with liberty and justice for all, we celebrate her freedoms today and enjoy her colorful display of patriotism. 🇺🇸

That said, we also mourn with those aching for the America they grew up with. The America they dreamed of. The America our babies may never know. ❤️‍🩹

Please, if you are celebrating, be safe. Consider those with trauma reminders that come with every firework pop and pets who don’t know what they mean, either. Be mindful and kind. Sometimes holidays look a little different for others. 🇺🇸
