Last night, St. Luke’s Penn Foundation staff and their families came together for Su***de Prevention Night at the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. Psychotherapist Tom Ritter had the opportunity to throw out the first pitch, and our amazing team also staffed a resource table to share vital mental health information and resources with attendees. It was a beautiful summer night filled with community, connection and purpose as everyone cheered on the IronPigs to a decisive 14-6 victory! Thank you to everyone who came out to support su***de prevention and mental wellness!

Summer always seems to slip through our fingers. Every spring, we eagerly count down the days until summer arrives and every summer, we marvel at how quickly it’s passing. And every fall, we shift into holiday planning mode, barely pausing to reflect. But what if we did pause? What if, just for today, we practiced something simple yet powerful: being in the here and now? Take a moment to read how you can savor today. https://go.sluhn.org/3Ij2ckW

Summer break is in full swing — but is your family thriving with the shift in routine?

For many kids (and parents), transitioning from the structure of school to a more relaxed summer schedule can be a challenge. While it’s important to enjoy the break, letting go of all routines can impact everyone’s well-being. In this month’s episode of Just STARt the Conversation, host Amie Allanson-Dundon chats with Dr. Alycia Walty, chief medical officer at Star Community Health, about how families can build a flexible but consistent summer routine that works for them.

Maria thought that the verbal and emotional abuse she experienced most of her life was normal and that she deserved it. But at St. Luke’s Penn Foundation, she found a therapist who made her feel safe, something she had never experienced before. Through therapy, Maria discovered that she had PTSD and began the healing process of reclaiming her voice. “Now, it’s my voice making different choices.”

Maria’s journey is a powerful reminder that we all:
💛 Deserve self-love.
💛 Deserve to feel safe.
💛 Deserve to heal.
