When scleroderma severely damaged John’s lungs, he was told a double lung transplant was his only option—then turned down by his local health system.

His physician referred him to Temple Health, where our lung transplant team has extensive experience caring for patients other hospitals often can’t treat. After a successful double lung transplant at Temple Health, John is now breathing freely and regaining his active life.

At the Temple Lung Center, specialists led by Dr. Criner, director of the Temple Lung Center, quickly identified the right treatment approach and helped Rob regain control of his health. Today, he’s back to hiking, rock climbing, and living an active life.
