Would you be thinking about making the July 4th celebration meals easier?

The Dizzy Cook shares Meals for attack days: creamy one-pot broccoli mac and cheese, festive salads, and more.

In her new series, she shares her go-to meals for days when she experiences a migraine attack. They have to be easy, quick, and comforting while also free of additives and common trigger foods.

For the recipe, you can find it directly on our website, https://thedizzycook.com/ under 'Creamy Broccoli Pasta'.

This recipe aims to replace boxed mac and cheese with a healthier alternative. Made in less than 15 minutes in one single pot, you use wholesome ingredients - cheese, milk, pasta, and add broccoli for a magnesium and vitamin C boost.

A resource for those on a migraine diet or looking to improve their brain health with anti-inflammatory recipes that also follow a Mediterranean diet.

How is the Vestibular System affected by the extreme heat and weather we are experiencing?

Extreme heat and weather can negatively impact the vestibular system, leading to , , and issues.
Research from the Vestibular Disorders Association , indicates that high humidity can put increased pressure on the body's ability to regulate temperature and may exacerbate symptoms in individuals with Meniere's disease.

Here's a more detailed explanation:
1. Temperature Changes:
Increased core body temperature:
Research from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) suggests that even moderate increases in core body temperature can impact the vestibular system, potentially enhancing the sensitivity and firing rate of vestibular nerve afferents.
Heat exhaustion and heat stroke:
Exposure to extreme heat can lead to heat exhaustion or heat stroke, resulting in symptoms such as dizziness, lightheadedness, and even vertigo. This is due to the body's difficulty regulating temperature and the potential for dehydration and electrolyte imbalances.
Sudden changes in temperature, such as going from a cool environment to a hot one, can also trigger vestibular symptoms, including dizziness and vertigo.

2. Humidity:
Fluid retention:
High humidity can cause fluid retention in the body, including the inner ear, which may disrupt the balance mechanisms of the vestibular system.
Research from the Vestibular Disorders Association (VEDA) indicates that high humidity can put increased pressure on the body's ability to regulate temperature and may exacerbate symptoms in individuals with Meniere's disease. It
suggests that even moderate increases in core body temperature can impact the vestibular system.
