An office manager is needed to join the staff of our intimate, busy, family-friendly private practice in a lovely neighborhood. We are seeking an honest, energetic, dependable individual who will play a vital role in caring for our patients. You must be detail oriented and able to multi-task, with exceptional communication and people skills. We are seeking an experienced, motivated, capable individual, who is a pleasure to work with. Our state-of-the-art office utilizes Eyefinity EHR/PM software. Knowledge of electronic health records/medical billing is required. Applicants with some experience in the Ophthalmic, Optometric or Ophthalmological field are preferred.
This position is full time, and includes one evening per week, currently Tuesdays, and one Saturday per month. Pay is hourly and in accordance with applicant's experience and abilities.
Job Responsibilities:
Greeting and checking out patients
Answering phones/scheduling upcoming appointments
Obtaining insurance authorizations and verification
Billing insurances
Ordering eyeglasses, taking measurements and assisting patients with frame selection
Working with various eyeglass vendors and labs to ensure patient satisfaction is met
Troubleshooting eyeglass issues by making minor repairs or adjustments
Ordering contact lenses and assisting with contact lens teaching sessions
Help maintain the attractive appearance of the office
Assisting with other tasks to ensure office flow is effective and patient satisfaction is met.

PART TIME MEDICAL SCRIBE NEEDED. We are seeking a responsible and mature individual to work in our Mullica Hill, NJ office, and in our South Philadelphia office, as needed. Most work can be accomplished remotely after training. Scribe will be assisting the doctor while seeing patients. This position is an excellent resume builder for a student interested in a career in the healthcare industry.

Recently transitioned to Electronic Health Records, this office is utilizing the most up-to-date equipment and software available. Experience in an optometric or ophthalmological office is not required, but preferred. Some college education is also preferred.

This position requires a background check and is shared with one other individual. Current hours in the Mullica Hill office include Tuesdays, Thursdays 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, as well as one Saturday a month. A strong applicant will be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus, will wear a mask when in either of our facilities, will have excellent computer skills, an eye for detail, and a willingness to learn.

You may have noticed you are experiencing eye discomfort this summer. It’s not all in your head. Along with eye discomfort, the air quality in our area has an impact on conditions such as asthma and heart disease as well.

Recent wildfire smoke from Canada and the Western United States has reached down and across the country, reaching as far as Philadelphia and is continuing down toward DC and the Virginias.
Folks who suffer from asthma and serious heart disease would be prudent to keep an eye on air quality when planning activities. Air quality in Philadelphia, PA, Mullica Hill, NJ and surrounding areas is similar and can be found by going to https://www.iqair.com/us/usa/new-jersey/mullica-hill. For instance, today’s Air Quality Index (AQI) is 135, or 4 times the maximum exposure recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). At-risk individuals should limit exposure, and wear their handy COVID-19 masks if going out of the house cannot be avoided.

The good news is that air quality is expected to improve over the coming week. If your eyes have become uncomfortable, as long as you do not have an infection or allergy, simply wash eyes gently with cool, clean water. Cool compresses can help, along with the use of lubricating eye drops (preferably those without preservatives, which can aggravate your eyes). Use your sunglasses and give your eyes a break from contact lenses and make up until you are feeling better.
