Emiliano is a teenager with many talents! He enjoys playing guitar, drums, karate, writing, and playing sports. When he was diagnosed with Gorham-Stout disease, a rare condition that causes weakening of the skeletal bones, his family began researching where to find the best care for his new condition.

In January of this year, Emiliano has surgery with our upper extremities team, and is now back to doing the things that he loves!

Recently, three of our patient ambassadors, sisters Emily Lynn, Chloe Rose, and Grace traveled to a naval base for a behind the scenes tour of the aircrafts and hangars, led by Captain Dentzer. He showed them the flight line and they took photos with the Super Hornet jets. Captain Dentzer discussed the differences between the jets, and even walked them through the process of how they launch off of a carrier. The girls' dad, Mike, is a Shriner and was able to have a similar experience with his own dad when he was a boy, so it was a beautiful full circle moment and a wonderful experience for our patients!
