As a couples' therapist, I use a form of therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples' Therapy (EFT), developed by Dr. Susan Johnson, which has been researched to be the most effective form of couples' therapy even with the most distressed couples. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, a major life transition (e.g., divorce, empty nest), want to improve your relationships, develop m

ore self-confidence and a sense of personal fulfillment in life, I provide focused, effective treatment. In my experience, what I have found to be most healing and most effective in promoting change in the individuals I encounter, is the feeling that they have of being accepted and understood by the therapist. This provides a solid foundation upon which change can occur. I am very down to earth and create a safe environment in which people feel very comfortable.

Loneliness isn't the same as being alone. You can be alone and not feel lonely. Lonely feelings arise out of a harsh inner-critic and a lack of self-compassion. It is possible change the way you see yourself and be able to enjoy and seek solace in your own company. Therapy can help you silence negative thoughts and cultivate self-compassion.

If we received the message that we were not valued, we walk through life with low self-esteem, not believing that we are deserving.
