Announcement: The news is out and I am so incredibly humbled! I’ve been recognized as one of 10 LGBTQ leaders in Philadelphia by The Philadelphia Business Journal 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ as part of their annual business of pride, recognition and journal!

Excerpt:
Danzig said they view Philadelphia as a landscape with potential for more connection, innovation and creativity. And they want to be even more involved in advancing that.

“I have many jobs because I think all of them together really encapsulate my talents and my hopes and my dreams,” they said. “And cutting one out felt like a compromise. I invite people to jump on in and find a way to do a little bit of all of the things you love.”

🎭 Exploring the Power of Representation in Psychology: New Article Out Now! 🌍

As a culture catalyst and psychotherapist, I’ve long been passionate about the intersection of emotional well-being and representation in media. In my latest article for Psychology Today, I explore the importance of marginalized representation and how it impacts our emotional and psychological development.

"Wicked and the Importance of Marginalized Representation" dives deep into the significance of seeing ourselves reflected in media, particularly for those from marginalized communities. Representation isn’t just about visibility—it’s about recognition and the profound effect it has on our emotional health, self-esteem, and sense of belonging.

📌 Key Insights:

How representation shapes identity and emotional resilience

The psychological impact of being seen and heard in popular media

Why diverse narratives are essential for healthy emotional development

In a world where the stories we see shape the way we see ourselves, understanding the psychological implications of representation can help us foster more inclusive, compassionate spaces both in media and in life.

I invite you to read the full article and reflect on how the stories we tell ourselves (and those we hear from others) shape our emotional well-being.

Identities and history are often shaped not by reality, but from the stories we are told. "Wicked" weaves a narrative on the importance of Inclusion.

Thank you Practice Match for having me as your Keynote Speaker 🙌🏽💭

…speaking about human connection 🌱, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and sharing in my lived experience 🏳️‍⚧️ 🏳️‍🌈 is one of the greatest gifts I can continue to ask for from the universe. Sharing our humanity, and finding connection across difference continues to be inspiring.

Also, and I reunited after knowing each other since 2004/5 …now this is a gift. 💝 Thrilled to have the Universe put us in the same space.

This is 40.

I want to thank everyone for the wonderful and beautiful birthday wishes and kind sentiments. It means the world to me. 🥰 To be honest, it’s been a rather difficult couple of years and going into a new decade, I had a lot of mixed feelings and still do. Part of my passion is making the world a better place with the work that I do and it’s been particularly difficult as well as some personal hurdles ☔️ the last couple of years. But there are things that I dream of doing and one of the ways that I continuously try to think about the world is that dreaming is a form of 🪄 magic 🌟 . We dream it up and it can come true.

I have many dreams for the next decade, but for today, I’m just going to be grateful for the many people in my life who make me feel loved, and cherished.

gracias por creer en mí y por su apoyo. La vida es un hermoso regalo y estoy decidido a seguir apoyando a otros con mi vida.

The Last Unicorn: 🦄 This story resonates so loudly with the complexity of human emotion, mortality, and fierce determination. I’m inspired by it daily and love looking at these statues.

If you’re curious about a psychological reflection on the importance of this story for generations, take a read of my article at Psychology Today 🌱💜

"I am a little afraid to go home. I have been mortal, and some part of me is mortal yet. I am no longer like the others, for no unicorn was ever born who could regret."

Any podcast fans out there? We've got some new ear candy for ya, and you may hear some very familiar voices… :)

Over the past few months, our collaborators at The Opt-In have worked with our Foundation team, and other CHOP colleagues from ODEI, to record and tell the story of our partnership and the evolution of our work together. Creating a culture of belonging - ensuring that our fundraising and our operational practices are grounded in equity and inclusion - is an ongoing effort, we're taking new steps every day. This podcast series will take us back to the beginning - why did we start this work? How did we execute? And what have we learned in the process? It's truly an honor to create space for this dialogue - with the hopes that it will reach folks who can learn from our strides (and missteps) and become catalysts for change within their own organizations.

With that said, we're thrilled to announce that next Thursday, 2/29, at 5:30pm we will join Aurora Archer, TOI Founder + CEO, for a conversation at Venture Café to celebrate the release of the first episode, and we'd love to invite you to join us!

While social media might present a curated version of reality at times, it also offers countless opportunities to connect with others who share similar experiences and find inspiration in their stories. Let's shift focus from what appears perfect online and instead draw support and hope from genuine interactions.

The last few months have been some of the most difficult of my life, overcoming much hardship, but being very private. I dare to be different, and to be more transparent. 🌱♥️😮‍💨

After a decade, serving as a DEI professional, culture, and changemaker, and trauma therapist, I often still cite my work in the creative arts as inspiration for my work today. I ran a nonprofit, Theatrical Trainer, that I founded for five years supporting the bio psychosocial needs of artists and that time continues to inspire and inform my work today.

I decided to speak out on the topic of protecting our artists and creatives and fostering a more healthy and inclusive environment for their mental health and well-being. For those that are artists, l recovering artists, or those of immense power over the creative arts and communities within them, please take a read. I feel blessed that Psychology Today continues to give me a platform and supports my work, and research. May we all be better, together.
