The scarcity of OBGYNs (and did I mention that the average wait time to see an OBGYN is three months) means countless women are left without the essential counsel of a licensed professional, forcing them to look for alternatives. This gap in our healthcare system isn’t just inconvenient; it’s a barrier to equitable health access. It underscores the need for innovative solutions to bridge these gaps and provide women everywhere with the support and care they deserve.
As the founder of Binto, a company dedicated to revolutionizing women’s reproductive care, I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative power of providing accessible care options. At Binto, we’re not just filling a gap but creating a new paradigm for women’s health. Currently, Binto is the only women’s health company that not only offers women personalized over-the-counter options to support their symptoms, but we are also the only company that offers these women access to licensed providers via telehealth consults at an affordable price point (the same amount or less than a co-pay).

The absence of OBGYNs in half of our counties is a call to action. It takes an average of 7-10 years to get an endometriosis diagnosis, and this disease impacts 10% of the menstruating public. This stems from a lack of knowledge in the general public and even in the medical community, including the taboos that prevent open discussion about menstruation and fertility.

March is endometriosis awareness month, and we want to help all of you living undiagnosed with this debilitating inflammatory disease.

Signs and symptoms:
Severe pain during menstruation (stabbing pain, intense gramps, painful breathing and pain that defers to the low back and thighs)
Pain when going to the bathroom (urinating and with bowel movements)
Painful intercourse/s*x (no, s*x shouldn’t be painful)
Intense bloating and trouble with digestion
Infertility

Getting to a diagnosis:
Work with a doctor that you trust. We encourage all to go to Nancy’s Nook to find a specialist in your area.
The current gold standard for diagnosis includes surgery to biopsy tissue and confirm endometriosis through pathology.

While there is no cure for endometriosis at this time, it’s critical to work with your doctor on a plan to help you manage your symptoms and improve your daily life. Excision surgery may be the best option for those with severe cases.

Working in an IVF clinic for several years, I’ve seen the fertility journey for what it can be: long, frustrating, overwhelming, expensive. I’ve also seen my patients bloom with renewed purpose. When you’re on that journey, it’s hard to know where to turn or whom you can trust.

There’s no pill you can swallow that’ll give you a guarantee. But you can get your body as healthy as possible! I can help you with that—and that’s why I started BINTO.
